But part of the phenomenon long precedes YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and social media dictating the news. It's the American cult of victimization
Youve been snookered folks! By that poor elderly doctor who was involuntarily dragged from his seat, had his face smashed in, and was beaten unconscious by the evil airport security at the behest of United Airlines.
Because theres no evidence any of that was true. It was in fact a premeditated temper tantrum gone viral, comprising one 69-year-old Vietnamese-American David Dao, a medical doctor who lost his license, planning a lawsuit from the moment United first politely asked him to give up his seat. He demanded to be dragged, did an excellent impersonation of Ned Beattys character in that horrific scene in Deliverance, and struck his lip on an armrest. From the many videos taken by numerous passengers, obviously from numerous angles, theres no evidence of a beating, a serious concussion, or bodily damage beyond that lip.
Imagine what would have happened if another Passenger noticed the beginning of the escalation between the Doctor and Security and decided to stand up and volunteer to give up their Seat instead.
Either the Doctor would just sit there and shut up or he would have thrown himself on the floor having convulsions knowing his big Payday just slipped away.
We’ll never know. Just speculating. LOL
let ‘em overbook if they think it is in their financial interests. the market for it has been working for YEARS. The consumers who are “bumped” are almost always compensated at a higher rate. And if they are unhappy, they’re less likely to book with that airline.
the best thing gov’t can do is encourage competition.
maybe a good analogy is the “throttling” practice by cellular phone companies. you buy a service at 4g speeds, but if you use “too much” of it in a month, your 4g service is “throttled” and you get 3g service for a while...
if the gov’t encourages competition/more providers the few people who are bumped will become even fewer.
>>Get used to it. DUmmies like to sign up and instigate. If you are permitted to stick around long enough, you may learn a few things. If you dont, oh well. Such is life. You may well learn that the owners of this site have property rights, too.>>>
And of course disagreeing means instigating right? And looky here...another threat and warning. Signs of losing a debate and desperation.
Not at all. I’ve seen many disrupters, and their tactics. It is simply that you bear watching.
>>>Unless the person you are responding to is 20 years old, you havent been here long enough. FR does have retreads. Many are those banned or suspended. For various reasons. What was your infraction. (Though, I can surmise from your attitude)
Bad attitude means you aren’t kissing up to lifers here. Creepy......

Yes sir officer. LOL!
Hovering my pointer over somebody's name to see when they signed up is "weird stalking like creepy stuff"? Sheesh.
“Lifers” here are usually those who reflect the sentiments of the owner of this site and have a civil and professional relationship with the mods. It is poor taste for a newbie to disparage those “lifers”, simply because the newbie is chafing at whatever paranoid delusions he or she may be experiencing.
“Youre been here less than a week and youre calling me a Nazi?”
How long does one have to be around to be able to call someone a Nazi?
.
Well, terming a Freeper as a NAZI usually denotes a DUmmie in disguise. Let the rope unreel.
Punch me in the face and I’ll not only own the plane but six more.
It doesn’t matter about his “sordid past”, what race, gender or religion he is. Nothing matters except United used physical force on him during those few minutes. It also has nothing to do with having to get a crew to the other airport since they caused the flight to be delayed for a couple hours. If the crew had to get there immediately, the rush was long gone by that time. United knew of the situation before hand so should have bumped (hate that practice) the passengers before they boarded. They’re the ones who screwed this up everyway but Sunday.
No, thanks. I’ll continue to drive to my destination.

Got it officer. Thank you. Have a good day now.
Here’s a really hard, difficult question for you. I.e.: what is the difference between ‘kissing up’ to a person and calling them a Nazi?
Is it even remotely possible that you are missing the point?
Just asking.
Nervous little newbie, ain’t ya.
>>>Heres a really hard, difficult question for you. I.e.: what is the difference between kissing up to a person and calling them a Nazi?>>>
The Nazi police here would by say......someone who throws the owners name around a lot...(he’s probably embarrassed by that)....who uses threats and warnings, who is paranoid of new people, who actually takes the time to check on your profile and background, and who is so angry with someone, they are now obsessed with getting that person throw out. So they now make it their personal mission to do that.
And the funny thing, these people are so paranoid and unwell, they don’t recognize it in themselves because it was THEM who started it with their tone and nastiness. They usually end up mocking everything from your screename to your time here. The original debate is long forgotten because for them.....it’s personal now.
Hope this helps. Just my opinion. Thanks and have a great day!
I guess the point I was trying to make is he’s lucky to be living in a country where the majority of the population is evil white people and not living in a country where the place is run by people that “look like him.”
>>>Nervous little newbie, aint ya.>>>
Nice, courteous, sweet, kind. Thank you sir.
“Is it even remotely possible that you are missing the point?”
Nope——sign up time shouldn’t matter in a discussion.

Had United Airlines followed good business practices and their own rules, none of this would have happened.
United is clearly too stupid to know how to run its own business and will now be getting some assistance.
A haughty spirit before a fall seems to apply here to all who conspired through circumstance to beat down an elderly man in order to take back what UA had legally sold to him, and that he had legally and peaceable taken possession of.
United Airlines started the fight, not the Dr.
And at any point, any and all of the UA and security personnel involved could have chosen a different path with a different outcome.
United Airlines instead chose take his seat back from him, and then chose to be cheap and then violent about it, instead of following good business practices and their own rules.
The Dr. was just minding his own business, not being a problem, just waiting to go home, sitting in the seat he paid for, just like everyone else.
United Airlines’ own haughty spirit brought them to their fall, as it would have sooner or later.
Will their pride now bring about their destruction or will they learn a better business model?
Especially this:
“United Airlines started the fight, not the Dr.”
The doc did not get on board to pick a fight. The doc got on board to get a ride, that he paid for, in a seat that he was already sitting in.
The rest is BS.
