Jerry Brown's Crumbling Road Show and Legislative Circus

The left must destroy California in order to transform her into a socialist state

Democrats just passed the largest gas tax increase in California history. The deal is so bad they needed $1 Billion in payola to buy enough votes to pass it. And shamefully, only 60 percent of the gas tax collected from SB 1, authored by Democrat Senator Jim Beall (D-San Jose), will actually be used for road maintenance and repairs. Environmentalists got plenty of taxpayer-funded payola as well including money for more public transit, and for walking and bicycling projects.

SB 1 does nothing to relieve traffic congestion or expand highway lane capacity. If Democrats and Gov. Jerry Brown are trying to force California’s middle class out and small businesses, then it’s working.

The money goes into the general fund and the legislature can distribute it as they not the voters see fit. Money will never fill one pot hole, build a new road, repair a bridge,. Nothing. The money will go to fund underfunded pensions. Welcome to communism!

It’s far, far worse than described in this article.

ALL existing gas taxes ($0.18/gallon) and vehicle licensing fees will be redirected to the General Fund.

it is for politicians like those running Kalifornicate that brought about citizen's reaction of Tar and Feathering. In Kalifornicate’s case, Tar and Feathers just wouldn't be enough.

Just like Venezuela, a majority voted for it but all will suffer (except for the political class of course).

Just returned from visiting friends in CA. Property values are soaring and a lot of people are feeling rich from equity. They could care less about state spending. The liberal mindset continues. Traffic is terrible and our favorite restaurants were impossible to get into. The illegals and upper classes are doing great. The so called migrant ag workers now drive their own cars to the fields. The bubble continues to grow.

And those from CA moving to Texas are buying up houses, paying cash and offering 30,000 above asking price. It is getting to be a real problem for first time home buyers fresh out of college.

Too many mind numbed robotic voters in the state of California. They have no clue as to what is going on and will continue to vote dimoKKKRAT as the state continues into a downward spiral.

Agreed, there are too many Californian liberals who still believe in the tooth fairy or utopia in this case. In conjunction with that, the California election system is so corrupted by the libturd establishment that only libturds have a chance at a seat at the decision table in Sacramento. Libturd cronyism obviously rules California and to its demise as is obviously coming.

RE:”During a rally Wednesday on the Capitol steps, Gov. Jerry Brown strangely claimed, “This is a fee, a fee for the privilege of driving on our roads that the people pay for, and we’ve got to keep paying for them. Otherwise, they are not going to work for us. It’s just that simple.”
“Tax increases don’t solve the problem,” David Crane wrote in 2015. “In 2012 California voters passed a temporary tax increase known as Proposition 30 designed to generate an additional $50 billion in revenue over seven years. But as the math makes clear, all that revenue, and more, is being consumed by increases in retirement, health care and corrections spending.”
...
Republican Senator Anthony Cannella sold his soul to the devil with the gas tax vote Thursday, in exchange for $500 million going to his district, and whatever promises made to him personally from Gov. Jerry Brown. Cannella, demonstrating how tone deaf he is, posted on Twitter Thursday, “I think I’m going to stay off social media today”

Retirement, health care and corrections spending .

I also was in CA recently. Those people live in a fantasy world. Vast sections are incubated from others. I bring issues up and ask questions and I get nonsense in response. The state as a whole is a failure and probably needs to be broken up.

One heckuva way to govern, huh? One party rule, a holier than thou Gubinor, an in your face high court telling the Federal Gubamint to take a hike and hugging illegals and hiding them behind their black robes.

To call it a paradox of a state, so resource rich, so leadership stupid.. an electorate stoned in perpetuity..

The Rat Cartel holds fast and tight to its anchor baby state.

IF &
WHEN ILLEGALS get removed from California, the ‘congestion’ will be greatly diminished.

Unfortunately, when the *does* SHTF, they’ll be the 1st to scatter to other States, bringing their same mindset.

Just ran across some notes I had written in an old notebook many years ago:

A Louisiana lawmaker commenting on Jerry Brown:

"This guy uses a lot of words, but he doesn't seem to say very much."

Quoted in The Los Angeles Times, June 11, 1976

Until Californian opposition start focusing on a detailed cost analysis of what a “sanctuary state” is really costing them and start raising hell they deserve no sympathy.

A favorite tactic by co0llectivest governors parading as democrats is road fund diversion because it’s a steady revenue stream. That’s easily diverted and goes unto funding social programs usually pension funds.

Usually when “sanctuary cities” are discussed those city taxes also get raided because of that steady revenue stream as well but it’s never brought out because the usual focus on school expenses. But the California state senate has just past creating California a “sanctuary state”.

Unfortunately the political opposition there allows their media, which should be given a severe trashing with their racist/nativist meme drive the issue. When they should be investigating the actual costs being spent on non citizens affecting every aspect of those not only limited income but reaches into the middle class tax paying citizens of California and what their glo-bullsheet politicians are foisting on them.

To give an example of this is a recent study done in Texas where a group examined what their illegals are costing the education budget which is 12 $billion. I’ll bet it’s twice that in California.

California must go red—GOP Red not Commie Red. The Republican Party must reform (No More RINOs) and re-take the Government. The all powerful Serra Club and Teachers Union must be humbled and replaced. Illegals must be controlled-—How you say?

1. Force E-Verify for all jobs. Anyone hiring an illegal suffers $50,000 fine for first offense—5 years in jail for the second.
2. Build the Wall, and patrol it.
3. Any illegal who is arrested for any felony—deported or sentenced to five years on the Chain Gang to fix roads.
4. Cut welfare to all illegals.
5. Cut public schools to all illegal children—let rich people donate to pay for private or Catholic Schools to educate them.
6. Draft all illegals into the army—send them to Syria as cannon fodder—if they come back covered in Glory they get citizenship for them and their family. They have proven themselves as good citizens.
