The thing is, once a wall is built, it is more or less permanent.
The alternatives, are temporary, and could be completely neutralized simply by reversing policies in a new administration.
I’m saying, the wall is important.
The ecological devastation wrought by these border jumpers is far worse than any impact the wall is going to have.
A philosophical argument of which I want solicit comment on.
Fact: Each year hundreds of illegal aliens die in the desert trying to reach the United States and even more are robbed abused raped and murdered by the coyotes that promise to get them across the border.
Fact: Anyone that knows what landmines are do not walk across a landmine field if it is demarcated in multiple languages and graphic signs that show you will die if you walk across this field.
Question: What is more humane? A land mine field that no one but the insane will cross and they are few, or an open border that many will cross and die in the desert?
It is really that simple. However, build the border wall as that is more politically acceptable or we could do what Mexico does with their Southern Border with Guatemala. It is worse, much worse.
But what about the poor rice rat? /s
I would kill them all myself if it would save one kid from drug overdose.
I agree. Access to water would seem to be a big issue.
Wall off the Rio Grande and the wildlife on the US side may not have any other supply of water.
I feel like I am on an EPA thread.
So I guess that means a bunch of you dont want a wall.
We dont need a wall if we get rid of Anchor Babies and freebies.
As surveyor geodesist/surveyor/engineer for 30 years I'm painfully aware of that. Further, I was deeply immersed on the solar thing for over 20 years.
Problem is, you see, south-facing also faces the invaders; it's a geography thing.
How long do you think those panels would last?
I am sorry that my attempt at humor went over your head...
You can say that two times!
Shameless movie quote...
That is less than we California taxpayers spend every &%$#@())!!)*+ year to house, feed, educate and otherwise support our own personal gangs of criminal illegal aliens from south of the border, and their endless train of potty mouthed little bastards.
How many videos would you care to see to confirm?
PING
It must be true!
Progressive Marxists, Soro-ites, hillaryites, Obamabots and GOPe zombies do lack the humor gene...
A channel on the US side would Hold Rio Grande water for animals.
Lizards or American lives. You decide.
We have a gazillion miles of highways in this country and we can't or won't build a concrete wall preventing illegals and drugs coming into this country? This ain't rocket science.
Too much maintenance. Bad guys will find the weak spots.
You are a Berkly kook with a major in zoology.
Zoology is an inexact and often fabricated discipline. You should have worked for a real major. You could use your talents in varment ‘extermination’.
Glad Trump is building the wall, not liberals.
There ya go.
I thought of building the wall parallel to the river banks about 1/3 of the way across , in the river.
Water for the wildlife and very difficult to go over or under.
>bad guy will find the weak spots.
Correct. At the point where the Mexican border becomes stronger than the Canadian border, the enormous coastline, or the airports, additional investments in the Mexican border become useless.
Border security is as much about reducing the incentive to come here, as it is about increasing the costliness of illegally crossing the border. This is why I mention ending anchor babies, welfare for illegals and sanctuary cities, By reducing the mass of people trying to get here illegally, we can focus on stopping the really bad guys.

true. put school principals, social workers, employers, medical people, in jail for serving illegals and they would be streaming out of here in millions.
