Funnywoman Tina Fey called out white women who voted for Donald Trump, urging them to not look away just because some of the current political issues don’t immediately affect them.
“A lot of this election was turned by white, college-educated women who now would maybe like to forget about this election and go back to watching HGTV,” Fey said during the “Stand for Rights: A Benefit for the ACLU” on Friday night.
“I would want to urge them to like, ‘You can’t look away’ because it doesn’t affect you this minute, but it’s going to affect you eventually.”
The comments stemmed from the “SNL” alum’s discussion with New York Civil Liberties Union executive director Donna Lieberman and ACLU deputy legal director Louise Melling about women’s rights and fighting for protection of those rights under the current administration.
She openly discussed the future of women’s reproductive rights with the two ACLU directors and said as a college educated women herself, she pledges not to look away — things will eventually affect this group if they don’t put a stop to it.
“Again, open two windows. Do watch HGTV,” she continued. “But to not turn our attention away from what is happening.”
Fey famously portrayed former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin on “SNL” and also served as the anchor of “Weekend Update.”
I (white, college educated woman) voted for Trump because I wasn’t going to allow Hillary to destroy this country by opening the floodgates to every third world parasite and terrorist who could get here.

Always remember in the 90’s there was a group of unpaid female volunteers under the age of 23 working in the White House. One of them was converted to a full time paying job. That was Monica, and you know what she had to do to get that job.
Hillary was fine with that approach for deciding which female gets the paid job. Is that a champion of women’s rights? Is that how you want your wife, daughter, or granddaughter to get their first full time job?
Don’t even wanna go there, That vision is so unsettling I may have to swill another Steel Reserve.
