After withdrawing his health care bill from the House floor in an embarrassing defeat, Speaker Paul Ryan said Friday that “Obamacare is the law of the land” and will remain so “for the foreseeable future.”
“I don't know what else to say other than Obamacare is the law of the land,” Ryan told reporters shortly after House Republicans canceled a planned afternoon vote on their alternative to Barack Obama’s 2010 health care reform law.
“It's gonna remain the law of the land until it's replaced,” Ryan continued. “We did not have quite the votes to replace this law. And, so, yeah, we're going to be living with Obamacare for the foreseeable future.”

If it hadn’t been such a terrible bill in the first place, like letting more of the free market run healthcare, it may have had a chance.
On the other hand, it could have been done purposely this way so that 0bamacare remained the law of the land. What a freakin jerk Ryan turned out to be, the corrupt establishment wins either way with how it turned out.

The default position should be FIRST repeal, with no anticipation beyond that. Any other legislation, whether it stands or falls, needs to come after as a completely separate issue.
And they won't. Not only, but they have effectively neutered Trump. He is a lame duck, subject to the whims of the establishment now. Once more, we have been pissed on.
To Paul Ryan: You did not replace it, you rejiggered it so the insurance companies would get more money.

Amazing times we live in Democrats can pass any law they want whenever they want. And we can’t pass anything ever. Funny how that works. I hope the master deal maker has something up his sleeve because this ain’t winning and this doesn’t look like Leadership.
