Ryan: 'Obamacare is the law of the land'
POLITICO ^ | March 24, 2017 | Madeline Conway

Posted on 03/24/2017 2:40:30 PM PDT by Trump20162020

After withdrawing his health care bill from the House floor in an embarrassing defeat, Speaker Paul Ryan said Friday that “Obamacare is the law of the land” and will remain so “for the foreseeable future.”

“I don't know what else to say other than Obamacare is the law of the land,” Ryan told reporters shortly after House Republicans canceled a planned afternoon vote on their alternative to Barack Obama’s 2010 health care reform law.

“It's gonna remain the law of the land until it's replaced,” Ryan continued. “We did not have quite the votes to replace this law. And, so, yeah, we're going to be living with Obamacare for the foreseeable future.”

“I don’t know what else to say other than Obamacare is the law of the land,”

Funny way to say “my political career is in the toilet”

We want it REPEALED, not rearranged.

Trump said that this morning, before the Titanic bill hit the iceberg.

This mess is a parallel to the years of wanting “comprehensive immigration reform” without enforcing against illegal immigration.

The correct stance has always been “enforce,” then talk about reform.

In this case, “repeal,” then talk about replace (or not).

Mr. Trump knows this to be true in immigration. He seems to have missed it somehow in the area of health insurance.

Ryan: 'Obamacare is the law of the land'

Actually, it isn't.

My advice the last election was for Republicans to vote Republican in every race but vote for the Democrat against Paul Ryan. It’s better to have the enemy in your sights than at your back.

“It’s gonna remain the law of the land until it’s replaced,” Ryan said.

What I would have liked to see is the more accurate statement, “It’s gonna remain the law of the land until it’s repealed.”

This is the core part of the problem, right here.

The constitution is either a superior, paramount law, unchangeable by ordinary means, or it is on a level with ordinary legislative acts, and, like other acts, is alterable when the legislature shall please to alter it.

If the former part of the alternative be true, then a legislative act contrary to the constitution is not law: if the latter part be true, then written constitutions are absurd attempts, on the part of the people, to limit a power in its own nature illimitable.

THe same POS all but one member of the Freedom Caucus voted to keep as Speaker. Yes.

That person will face a strong primary challenge backed by the corrupt establishment, including the medias, for doing so. That's what happened to my Rep Huelskamp for voting against Boehner, twice. The corrupt establishment succeeded in ousting Huelskamp for not towing the corrupt line.

I just wish we'd go directly to investigating whether 0bama is a citizen or not. If not, as I strongly suspect, the whole corrupt establishment goes down, democrats, RINO's, their cronies, the media and their agenda. Then we can get on to fixing the corruption and what's wrong in government and move this country forward.

The Republicans can’t use the clean hands excuse anymore. That worked the last election but won’t the next if ObamaCare is still in force.

“...we’re going to be living with Obamacare for the foreseeable future.”

Oh Bull Chit.

You and 534 of your buddies aren’t forced into Obamacare nor are the 2 million Federal employees.

You people are feckless asshats.

Go get get a job working with Boehner or whatever K Street cheaters will employ you.

Don’t count Donald Trump out just yet. This may have been a gambit, a seemingly failure, to get to a greater objective on the other side of this engagement.

The Donald still plays 3-D chess, and he may have some long-range strategy that will use this as a launch toward something MUCH more effective.

Paul Ryan single handily just royally screwed over the GOP..they had EIGHT YEARS, EIGHT LONG YEARS to come up with something SIMPLE, but NO, these douche bags decided to create Obamacare lite..REALLY, is that the best they could come up with after 8 longggggggggggggg years..how about ONE SIMPLE PAGE with one simple plan..FREE MARKET!! Gee was that so hard but NO, instead of REPEALING OBAMACARE first and coming up with a plan later on, they decided to make this crap sandwich

Needs to quit.

I also didn’t like how Ryan said, “Now, we can move forward with OUR agenda.”

No, Ryan....YOUR agenda stinks.

Of course it is. And it would have been anyway with the bill that he tried to cram down the people’s throat. Changing the name to Ryancare and putting lipstick on it doesn’t make it a good bill.

Yes. As if repealing it isn’t part of the agenda.
