Wednesday, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), held a press conference where he claimed he possessed proof that U.S. citizens involved in the Trump transition were incidentally surveilled by the Obama administration. Nunes clarified that the evidence hed reviewed was not related to, Russia, the investigation of Russian activities, or the Trump team.
Rep. Nunes announcement came as a shock to ranking committee Democrats, who learned the news via the press conference. The White House was also unaware of Nunes findings until the press conference.
An Intelligence Community (IC) insider approached Rep. Nunes with the bombshell evidence after FBI Director Comeys testimony before Congress Monday. Or at least thats what Nunes claims.
As Nunes explained, members of Trumps transition team were surveilled incidentally, but what concerned him most was that transition team members had been unmasked. Rather than being referred to as American A (or something of the like) in surveillance reports, their identities were listed. Unmasking requires specific request and approval.
This incidental intelligence contained personal information about members of Trumps transition team was then disseminated to other IC members, but this had no intelligence significance at all and that would include people in the White House getting it, said Rep. Peter King (R-NY), House Intel Committee member.
Joining Fox News Bill OReilly Wednesday night Rep. King reiterated Rep. Nunes previous statements. Its worth noting that at the time of his interview with OReilly, King had not personally seen the information in Nunes possession, but had been briefed in detail by Nunes.

King claimed the reports theyve sifted through are just the beginning and that theres much more. Seemingly contradicting one of Nunes claims, King indicated (again, second-hand knowledge here) that the intelligence reports read like surveillance reports, detailing where the subjects went and with whom they spoke.
According to King, this is not an isolated incident. There are many reports with same type of intel collection.
When questioned, Trump said he felt somewhat vindicated and was glad Nunes found what he did.
Hours later, CNN published a story with the following headline:
Even though, officials cautioned that the information was not conclusive and that the investigation is ongoing.
Its almost like the FBI swatted back. Almost.
Ack. Now I’m getting more hopeful with this
Spy v Spy by media leaks. Sombody needs to focus like a laser beam to get to the bad actors and cull them.
Just a week, conservative talk show hosts were advising Trump for inventing these accusations. Wonder what they’ll say now.

“Spy v Spy by media leak”
Quote of the day.
This BLOWS away Watergate as significant. This was FELONY WIRETAP!! Obama must be arrested!!
This BLOWS away Watergate as significant. This was FELONY WIRETAP!! Obama must be arrested!!
Good luck, he’s left the country already.
Like the layers of an onion.......
But there are gonna be some people who did his dirty work who may either see their whole rotten careers go up in smoke, or have to accept a walk in Ft. Marcy Park.
with King and Nunes claiming virtually the same thing, does that make Andy Kaufman’s aborted brother the biggest Lie-Yuh!!! Evuh?
Is this a Bigly Yuge claim ?
We can find him easy.and if we invade Iraq and Syria with complete disregard for international law— Tahiti is nothing! Go arrest the son of a bitch!!
I disagree, Obama is a co-conspirator and a main actor to felony wire tap and exposing Americans to FISA searches. 10 years in the poke!!
Something truly dangerous is playing out in the IC. It really does appear that there are leakers determined to counter any evidence supporting Trump.
I guess it’s the Comey Contingent, but there’s no way to know. Yet.
Bump. Exactly!
What “US Officials”, how come no names? which agency/bureau/department?
I hate the msm more with each passing day. I thought I had reached my maximum limit of hatred, but no, it seems it’s limitless.
From what I read, no extradition treaty with Tahiti, haven’t looked it up myself, though.
Well, let’s HOPE Trump’s Associates started communicating with the Russians starting Nov 9th at the very latest.
It’s the only rational and responsible behavior one could expect.
The sensational headline from CNN is just bs.
They and all the Russia-phobes and never Trumpers need to be asked the question: IS there any evidence a crime was committed? Anything?
And, is it a crime to communicate with the Russians and try to cut deals with them...prospective offers in exchange etc?
No. It is not.
That is the President’s principal job, foreign affairs. And for much of his staff too.
Zero, Loretta, Comey, and Brennan will look good in orange...
But apparently they can only counter evidence supporting Trump with empty words, not evidence.
