Earlier today Ed wrote about the left’s struggle to find something with which to attack Judge Gorsuch. So far it seems they have been able to come up with very little. But at least one leading faction on the left is demanding Gorsuch be kept off the Supreme Court. A coalition of 55 groups who support abortion, including NARAL and Planned Parenthood, have sent a letter to Senators warning he represents a “grave danger” to “our constitutional rights.” Politico published the letter which reads in part:
We implore senators to do everything necessary to block this nomination. Gorsuch has demonstrated he will go to extraordinary lengths to reach a result that would block women’s access to basic reproductive healthcare…Based on his record, writings, and the circumstances of his nomination, we believe Gorsuch would put reproductive freedom in grave danger and pose an imminent threat to our constitutional rights.

If he votes like Sandra Day O'Connor, there will be a change in the philosophical make up of the Court. His appointment would shift the court leftward.

They were terrified of David Souter too, and the only "no" votes came from Dems who feared he would overturn Roe v. Wade. The GOP Senators all rubber stamped the appointment because they were assured that he was a "strict constructionist" and would be a "home run for conservatives".
They act like the biggest right and wonder of the world is to be able to kill your unborn baby.
Is it really more important than any other right??
There will ALWAYS be abortion. Just like there will always be rape and murder. No worries. There will always be medical docs who will do them. George W Bush’s abortion was done by an obgyn who called his girlfriend’s procedure a D&C. This will always happen. There will also always be back alleys. It’s not a wonderful right, to be able to kill inconvenient people.
