That means that there has to be an individual in charge who now, regrettably, might or might not be the Attorney General because of his recusal on the Russia issue, but it must be a thoroughly reliable and capable law enforcement official who is willing to immediately impanel a grand jury and begin to take testimony. It must be a man who was willing to consider and possibly pursue a RICO case of criminal conspiracy.
It is essential that Trump was advised by some official, hopefully FBI Director Comey, who provided a tangible, written or recorded record of what Trump is alleging in his tweets, so that Trump's allegations concerning Obama are tied to him directly and not just by inference or by connecting dots, and in such a way that Obama's motives are plain to see.
I am sure it is only a matter of hours until more comes out. I question whether it was smart to vent and attack at five o'clock in the morning and whether it might have been much smarter to spend 48 hours consulting with the Department of Justice, the FBI, and explicitly laying out a case in a more coherent manner. This kind of reflexive reaction only makes Trump look erratic and is unnecessary and it, unfortunately, trivializes a potentially grave constitutional crisis.
It is necessary for Trump to mobilize the full power of the federal government on this issue and not to squander the momentum with erratic tweets.
Drudge has it as Headline...
Trump towers Bugged!
“It is necessary for Trump to mobilize the full power of the federal government on this issue and not to squander the momentum with erratic tweets.”
There’s the rub... He isn’t being allowed the “full power of the federal government” yet, precisely because this whole ordeal is designed to keep the previous regime in power from behind the scenes.
“it might have been much smarter to spend 48 hours consulting with the Department of Justice”
Who says he hasn’t done that? The 5AM tweets sent the press hounds knocking on the doors of all involved first thing in the morning.
They woke up in the middle of the sh1tstorm and are scrambling to respond. Hopefully their are all under surveillance. So far nobody has denied anything.
Six months ago I would have agreed with you on that.
Now I'm not so sure. His Twitter messages will get a lot more exposure than any other method he could use to get this message out ... other than perhaps sending Ronald McDonald and the Geico lizard out there to carry the message in a TV/YouTube ad campaign.
Your comment assumes that President Trump does NOT have a campaign of systematic presentation of evidence lined up. I share the concern that this be done correctly but we will have to see what follows in the coming hours and days before we can determine whether this morning’s tweets were wise. If he has all his ducks in a row (as I hope and expect) then these few tweets are simply “preparing the battlefield” for what is to come.... get the MSM scrambling today to develop their stories, dominate the Sunday talking head shows, and crush the Obamanation and Democraps once and for all with the onslaught of evidence. At least, that is what we can HOPE and expect is coming now.
