Melania Trump’s Sweet 1st Trip To Visit Sick Kids In NYC Hospital — See Pic

Bringing cheer to an NYC children’s hospital for the 1st time, Melania Trump made the cutest appearance as she read Dr. Seuss to sick kids while encouraging them to read. And appearing in good spirits, the FLOTUS totally seemed to light up the room as she broke open ‘Oh, The Places You’ll Go!’ How sweet is that?

Melania Trump, 46, totally got into the spirit of World Book Day on Mar. 2 by showing up at New York Presbyterian hospital to read Dr. Seuss books to sick children. Even better? She did so on the author’s birthday, which is SO fitting! The First Lady arrived at the hospital at 11:04 a.m., according to Daily Mail, and reportedly spent around two hours with the youngsters. But Melania didn’t come empty handed! In fact, she brought “many” Dr. Seuss books with her, which were in a white box tied with gold ribbon.

“I came to encourage you to read,” Melania told the patients before beginning her aloud reading of Oh, the Places You’ll Go! Later she added that she wanted the kids to think about “what you want to achieve in life.” How inspirational of her! The sweet visit marked the first time Melania has gone out to volunteer in New York City as First Lady. However, it wasn’t her first time as FLOTUS visiting with young patients. Melania actually was in DC at a children’s hospital just the day before!

“Thank you for welcoming me @ChildrensHealth. My prayers and thoughts are with all of the children and families. #GROWUPSTRONGER,” Melania wrote on her official First Lady Twitter account after visiting Children’s National on Mar. 1. She also posted a pic of herself smiling and standing with a few of the patients and their parents in the hospital’s new healing garden.

After her visit, Melania released a statement that read, “I am a passionate believer in integrating and interpreting nature’s elements into our daily lives to create a warm, nurturing and positive environment. I believe that these same natural benefits can be instrumental to enhancing the health and well-being of all children.” She added, “It is important to me that children can recognize, identify and express their feelings in order to promote their mental wellness and healing process.” And it seems like she’s just as passionate about children reading!

Tell us, HollywoodLifers — are you surprised this is the first time Melania has read to sick kids since becoming FLOTUS?

She’s probably the most feminine First Lady I can recall. Jacqueline Kennedy was very feminine, but I think this gal has her beat.

What I said might be arguable, betcha if I say the Wookiee was the least feminine no one would argue.

Great photo. Melania is giving this child her full, loving, caring attention, probably more in 12 seconds than the kid has had in her life. Free and focussed attention heals a lot of hurts.

Beautiful, graceful, charming and fiercely intelligent. She lights up every room she enters

Mooschelle Obama could also brighten any room....simply by leaving it!

Well, usually one has to be a female to be considered feminine. And I'll just leave it at that ;-)

I thought that same thing when I saw the picture.
It is always refreshing to meet or see strong yet feminine women.
