This just in from my good friend Dr. Maurice Codd, well known adviser to the Washington establishment:
My analysis and predictions about the next 2-4 years. Based on how this has gone, many times, in the past. Nothing new, just all new here in the USA.
The fundamental battle is the permanent Administrative State vs. the Elected State. It is about power and only power. There are no rules.
For the Administrative State:
First: The Administrative State feels under a state of siege from Trump, they, correctly, view him as a mortal threat. This provides their personal justification for using extra political means, including illegal means, to unseat him. The ground has been well prepared. Obama seeded many staff in many places, these embeds have been preparing to fight a well-orchestrated campaign. It did not receive much press but several days before Obama left office he changed the regulations to allow access to data bypassing elements of the FISA court system put in place to protect information from misuse. This prepped for use of Trump damaging Intel. The security community meaning the CIA, and 17 other agencies, including the NSA, have many hold over Obama embeds and they have been intercepting and wiretapping potential opponents, including Trump staff for some time. The process of productizing these nuggets for timed release to civilian cutouts and then to the media is underway. This axis is all pro and it will have an effect. The recent take down of Flynn was just a light snack.
Second: The media has made a terrible blunder, but over the last 8 years it has gone from at least somewhat neutral and fulfilling the historical role of reporting to all in as a political player. As such it has inadvertently weakened itself. Confidence by the public is down to 35%. CNN has no more than 900,000 viewers on a regular basis. An important but weakened ally of Deep State.
Third: Unions, also much weakened in membership but also loose in the saddle for Deep State, except for the still powerful teacher and government unions. This usually reliable ground army will be a player, but less effective than 10 years ago.
Fourth: Obama has no intention of going away. He will emerge in Washington, and will be a force to try and rally the left; He will be an important coordinator of the Administrative State counterstrike on Trump. His OFA 35,000 strong street organization will be a powerful and potentially highly disruptive force. This will be unlike anything seen before, an ex-president actively seeking to unseat his successor. Obama has no intention of letting Trump dismantle the Obama achievements. Look for Black Lives Matter, Occupy Wall Street, Anarchists and others to take smoke signals from this quarter and act accordingly, but without directly traceable connection.
Fifth: The Judicial system. Not uniform, but as has been shown recently, any Federal Judge can create havoc, and need not have any reasoned legal basis. While not permanently fatal to a Trump initiative, in theory, highly disruptive.
The Elected State, under the leadership of Pres. Trump
First: Trumps major asset is his remarkable connection to a large section of the country. He has a natural touch (if you don't think so watch the recent ceremony on the coal Regulation rollback). He has re-defined good corporate citizen. That used to mean equality in the workplace, green initiatives, giving back to the community. Now: Jobs. If you are not producing jobs, you are not a good corporate citizen. The guy in the street gets this. Confidence is up, and a corporate tax cut could rally the economy, a key Trump Card for the left counterstrike.
Trump should be helped greatly by penetration in the State Governments, which have largely flipped from the left. This can produce a bottom up force to counteract the Deep State.
Second: It is likely the non-government unions will be an asset. Recent Trump focus on jobs, the pipeline, trade, all bode well for peeling off union support, or at least reducing the Lefts land army of union foot soldiers.
Third: And this is starting to stretch, the military has to realize that the Administrative State under leftist configuration is a threat to the military. The left hates the military, seeks to bleed it of funding and use the money to recycle to supporters of the left. The military has historically been scrupulously politically neutral, but can it afford to do so now in the face of extra-legal Deep State? Military intelligence is highly developed, could it be employed to fight back? Historically, the military moves onto the political chessboard at some point in the current evolution.
Fourth: the Republican Congress may assist Trump. This could go either way. Over the last 30 years Republicans have face-planted given every opportunity to effect change and do something meaningfull. Might they now as well? Yes.
Fifth: the judiciary. Mission critical to pack as many appointees as possible, from lower courts to SCOTUS. Filibuster needs to go ASAP if need be. Take no prisoners. There are no rules now.
Sixth, and most important. Trump must appeal over the heads of the media directly to the people. He must, and no doubt will, stay in total campaign mode. The election isnt really over, and what has just begun is the battle for control of the government. The outcome could go either way.
What to watch for:
Obama comes on the chessboard, with his organizing force seeking to focus fire on Trump and Republicans.
Street violence. The USA has shown remarkable tolerance for the odd riot, burning, window breaking, and freeway shutdown. If the tempo rises, that will change. But note: street violence is a potent force in de-legitimizing a government. Historically perhaps the most potent. At some point will the left deploy this in volume? Look for this.
Conveyor belt of productized leaks originating from CIA and other wiretaps and secret sources.
Rising realization in the military that if the Left is successful in unseating Trump, they too suffer.
And, as always, a complete black swan in the form of a foreign development.
Prediction:
Bloody and Ugly. Trump wins in 15 rounder for the Ages. America does become great again.
Dr. Codd? That sounds fishy to me.
Dr. Codd....He sounds oily to me. Or should I say Lugubrious?

To me as well. But the post was well written despite being effectively anonymous. So ‘fess up beebuster: Who wrote this?
The bloodier the better! Bring it on!
One thing positive in all this is how the concepts of the "deep state" and "shadow government" - are now out in the open, being discussed and debated. Let them become familiar to all Americans.
I can see his argument getting battered, but, still, we need to let the chips fall as they may ...
possibly a deep embed in the deep state. i can’t say more.....
yes. we face a huge problem....

Hmmm. I’m thinking it’s more likely to be someone a lot closer to home.

I agree and much prefer the Deep State term. Takes me back to Nixon and a famous movie. Hopefully it will get picked up here at good old FR.
Very intense...but I do think Trump wins a bit easier that you believe. First up, he gets Republicans to apply the FEDERAL RIOT ACT to Disrupters, as was done during his inaugeration - where now 200 or so of the rioters are looking at 10 years in the FEDERAL clink...longer than Trump’s two terms.
As it gets applied a bit more, then Obama’s OFA goons will start to realize that they can be next...and OFA will be left doing nothing more than trolling the Internet.
As far as Deep State...it will become shallower...simply cut budgets. Do we REALLY need 100,000 (or whatever) people working at the State Department...maybe 5,000 could do the job. Sorry for the other 95,000 - they’ll have to find other employers. Same for other departments.
And the courts will likely go his way. If the Republicans do as well as expected in 2018, then their 58 to 62 seats in the Senate will allow them to either nuke the filibuster, or not simply outvote the Dems on Cloture. And the lower courts will soon be packed with conservatives.
It won’t be as epic. I think a 4th Round knock-out is closer to how this ends.
> “The media has made a terrible blunder, but over the last 8 years it has gone from at least ***somewhat neutral*** and fulfilling the historical role of reporting to all in as a political player.”
Over the last 8 years, somewhat neutral? Um, no.
No sense in reading past that.
My first thought was to get nervous when I heard Obama was training tens of thousands of political operatives in camps. Then I thought about it.
When has anything Obama planned worked?
Does he strike anyone as more than petty, petulant and vindictive?
What caliber of folks are going to those camps and are they used to actually working for a living, every day?
How will they stack up against the Armed Forces, National Guard, armed citizens?
I think its a bunch of hype. They have some thugs. Thugs are bullies who run when the going gets rough. They have some crazy leftists who will moon us and spit. They have the lazy gimmedats who will be hauled away and triaged, deport, jail, depot, jail..rinse repeat.
Middle America knows we are fighting for the future of our country & our kids & grandkids. The opposition has no idea how serious Trump and the folks behind him are about MAGA.
I’d like to fully agree with you. But there have been times when rabble or street thugs have been successfully “community organized” to, with some clever. Leadership and strategic violence, actually overthrow governments. Given obama’s chief funded/ puppetmeister soroznazi, 1933 Germany comes immediately to mind. But there was also the bloody French Revolution and obama’s successful ( for awhile) overthrow of Egypt by the Moslem Brotherhood murder gangsters, etc and etc. And even if SorozNazi/ obama/ Saudi don’t overthrow our government, they have billions of dollars to deploy street gangs. , press propaganda shills, and slimeball commie type lawyers
All over everywhere and everything he tries to achieve or repair. I still think we’re in for some very rough times
Yup.
