It’s always the people inside a bubble who think they’re the ones with an outsider’s perspective on things. The mainstream media fits this profile perfectly. The big name press continue to deny there is anything wrong with the way they do things, or the things they choose to do. NBC’s Chuck Todd, for example, is happy to blame Donald Trump for his profession’s problems and abdicate any responsibility. They all are.
Todd sent out this tweet when President Trump was going after the media during his press conference on Thursday:

The lack of self-awareness here is stunning. Gallup has a poll out about the press that asks:
In general, how much trust and confidence do you have in the mass media – such as newspapers, TV, and radio — when it comes to reporting the news fully, accurately and fairly — a great deal, a fair amount or none at all?
The current numbers for “great deal/fair amount” currently sit at 32%. In 1976 it was 72%. From 1997 through 2003 it was in the mid 50’s. But since 2007, the numbers have been below a majority each year, and it just keeps getting worse.
This is what Chuck Todd and others like him fail to accept or comprehend: The mainstream media have delegitimized themselves. Republicans and independents watched for eight long years as Todd and others of his ilk did their best to help and support the last administration; not only refusing to hold President Obama to account (the way they are imploring each other to do with Trump) but providing cover for him. The media framed Obama as the reasonable one while Republicans were just “intransigent” jerks who didn’t want Obama to succeed. They packaged and delivered his preferred message every night and all day on the cable channels.
As for Trump, for all of their bellyaching over his habitually manhandling them or his refusal to call on them during press conferences, they utterly fail to consider that may they shouldn’t have tried to game the system to force Trump on Republicans because they thought it would help Hillary.
During the GOP primary people like Chuck Todd were happy to allow Trump to call into Sunday talk shows. They’d cover his rallies, ofte in their entirety, happily showing Trump’s plane landing at whatever designated spot he was going to speak. The figure given is Trump was given about $2 billion in free advertising. Billion, with a B. It was only when Trump got the nomination that the media realized, “Oh crap. Look what we’ve done!” Suddenly, speaking truth to power was important, again. The press called upon each other to be diligent with the Trump administration.

And back from what, exactly?
Why would the media have to come back? Making the statement is an admission of guilt they’ve been doing it wrong (and they still are). It’s true. And they know it. But they’re standing there with their hands over their ears, screaming, “LA! LA! LA! LA! LA! LA! LA! LA!” pretending as though it hasn’t happened.
People like Todd have become so convinced of their importance; they forget what is they’re supposed to do. Reporters and news anchors have the duty to report the news. They need to gather the info, check facts, ask questions and then provide the information to the public who digest and make decisions based upon what they have seen or read.
Chuck Todd’s tweet is indicative of the condition he and other journalists suffer. They are no longer content to report. They believe it is their mission to tell people what to think.
Chuck Todd is not the arbiter of what is or what is not, un-American. That’s not for him to decide but he apparently thinks otherwise. He followed up that with another:___________________________________________________

See? Again, Todd is telling people what to think. This is not his role. He has not been appointed by anybody to make these calls, but this is how journalists behave. I wrote yesterday about members of the mainstream press, unable to withhold their contempt for Katie Pavlich and Townhall as well as the Christian Broadcasting Network. Donald Trump had the audacity to pick those people over “real” journalists.
As long as Chuck Todd, Katy Tur, Glenn Thrush, and others continue to behave not as reporters, but self-appointed seers of the political world who have final authority on who asks questions and what is “un-American” then they can continue to go down with the ship in a sea of sunken ratings.
The media has no right to demand they not be challenged. It’s only fair people learn to look for all sides of a story and when they do it’s not advantages to Democrats and that is why the outcry. These Jerusalem are nothing but propaganda for the left and disproportionately so.

The press has de-legitimized themselves. Trump is merely pointing it out for all to see.
Our founding fathers were not just wise and learned, they were a rough , ready and rowdy bunch who believed the best system was one where there was constant tension and competition between the various arms of government make sure the truth came out and no one group ever was able to consolidate enough power to gain dictatorial control of the system.
Our founding fathers would applaud Trump for calling the press out for it's lies and anti Americanism.
Most would have cheered if Trump challenged Chuck Todd to a duel for his dishonorable lies and would have fought among themselves for the honor to be his second in the duel.
All would have shown up at dawn and cheered when Trump put a well aimed round right through Todd's chest on the field of honor and then retired to a well appointed breakfast to celebrate Todd's demise.
There is nothing unAmeican about questioning the press since it is proven through leaked emails they are mouthpieces for one party and working actively do destroy another in the US. They are a political opponent and nothing more at this point in time and deserve bashing.
Dear Media,
Not all of you I am sure but enough of you to make this statement true.
Your work is not acceptable. If you were out here with dirt under your nails and scuffed boots on your feet your customers would say to one another YOU SUCK at what you do.
Most of us that are employed as just about anything need to do the job we are paid to do and to keep the job we must do it reasonably, even minimally well.
A car mechanic that never repairs a car correctly is fired. A cook who burns everything does not stay in the job long. Even illegal aliens who don’t hang drywall correctly are switched to pushing a broom.
Dear media your job is just to tell us who what when where how and why. And you don’t do that, you want to be fiction writers, or motivational speakers, or consultants on just how the world should work according to you.
Many of you are frustrated actors who are just not quite pretty enough but you still want the crowd to look at you and you crave the attention.
Do what you are paid to do, report facts, that is all. Then join a theater group for the praise you crave.
When you look at Chuck Todd, what do you see? When you listen to Chuck Todd, what do you hear? Would you put your life and your future into the hands of Chuck Todd and other ilk like him? Serious questions have to be asked about these little men who act like despots. We are fed up and we do have a crisis but it certainly is not with our President. It is with the treasonous among us and when I look at the majority of the MSM, I see treason and tyranny. They do not like anyone to stand up against their fake news and fake analysis. Years ago I was more or less addicted to CNN. Had it on all the time. That was back in the days of “Crossfire,” where fair debate happened. Then Jane Fonda married Ted Turner and things began to slowly change. Of course, Fonda and Ted divorced but CNN had begun their downhill slide and I stopped watching altogether. Jeff Zucker, the current President of CNN, in his hateful response to President Trump’s unhappiness with the fake news, claims that CNN is doing better than ever with 51% growth. Well, Mr. Zucker, anyone would expect that because it is like an ambulance chaser, people are hate-watching, hoping to be there when your network goes into the tank. Or, they want to be sure to know what the enemy is doing so they will have a better idea for how to protect themselves when the country lapses into civil war. To say that people like myself feel total disgust with people like Chuck Todd is an understatement for, their hatred, propaganda, and coup attempts against this President will turn out as badly for them as for the rest of us. Go for it Chuck and all others like you. Somewhere in the time ahead, I pray that reason and logic will return so that those who write about this period will enlighten the people about how not to destroy their great nations from within.

I had a discussion about this topic with a local reporter a few years ago about this. I hate to say it but this attitude is everywhere among the media including little once a week newspapers.
