A document from the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) indicates that Donald Trump took steps last week to outmaneuver nonprofit organizations, leaving them unable to officially campaign against him over the next few years of his Presidency.
Filed on January 20th, 2017, the letter states that, while not an official announcement for reelection, Donald Trump has filed an FEC Form 2 in order to ensure compliance with the Federal Election Campaign Act. This is an unprecedented, although legal, move for the President to make. Barack Obama did not file for his 2012 re-election bid until April 2011. Having filed (even if not formally announcing a bid) as a candidate, Trump would be able to coordinate with PACs and other similar organizations.
More importantly, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations would no longer be able to engage in political speech which could theoretically affect the results of the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election without running the risk of losing their nonprofit status. The move effectively bars interest groups from creating nonprofits which they could funnel money into for the purposes of opposing Trumps initiatives. This will likely create chaos for political opponents of Trump such as George Soros, who has sunk significant amounts of money into various nonprofit groups with the intent of opposing Trumps government. How 501(c)(3) organizations will comply with the FECs regulations when participating an actions which qualify as political speech remains to be seen.
The move is consistent with Trumps campaign promises to reduce the financial influence of private special interest groups on Washington.
I love the way Trump works.
And the way he thinks
One step ahead.
Interesting. Wonder if this will work out as presented?

To Whom It May Concern:
While this does not constitute a formal announcement of my candidacy for the 2020 election, because I have reached the
legal threshold for filing FEC Form 2, please accept this letter as my Form 2 for the 2020 election in order to ensure
compliance with the Federal Election Campaign Act. See 52 U.S.C. 30102(e)(1); 11 C.F.R. 100.3(a)(1).
Sincerely,
Donald J. Trump

Have the NeverTrumps filed their PACs yet?
I’m thinkin’ more like 5-6 steps ahead. And he’s barely getting warmed-up...
Miles ahead. This goes to reinforce that all of his detractors are just shadow boxing at best and in reality simply chasing ghosts.
I LIKE IT. Now Trump (or his IRS) can start removing the tax-exempt status from those horrific organizations.
Note that this was filed January 20, Inauguration Day.
In it to win it.
2 weeks on the job and he is planning 4 years ahead.
While the opposition party media was engulfed in the crowd size controversy...
like shootin’ fish in a barrel
Guy just doesn’t think like we do. Seriously.
It’s why you almost have to throw the rule book away with him. You don’t know how his appointments will work. He’s taken on some folks I would have avoided, but he will keep them on a short leash.
Like I said, you just can’t judge him like you did folks like George Bush or his dad. When they took on a Lefty, you said, “Ok, look out!” With Trump you say, “I wonder what he sees in this person and how he will use him to implement his plan. And yet, you know he will.”
Beats anything I’ve ever seen.
He’s definitely not lazy. The lefties are going to lose a lot of sleep trying to trail this guy.
Love it. Analogy seems to be a BIG FU to Soros, and company.
lol

Ya beat me. He definitely is. Brilliant.
