Customers on the waiting list for the Tesla Model 3 sedan may have been bumped up in line a bit.
Electric car blog Electrek reports that at least a few people have said they are cancelling their orders for the yet-to-be-released car over Elon Musk's collaboration with President Donald Trump's administration....

What’s the advantage to a battery-powered car versus a gasoline or diesel-powered one? Buehler? Buehler?

lol Vaporware.
Yep. I have a friend that lives in a 650 sq ft house on the big island that is 100# solar powered. They are in a development on the southwest side of the big Island on what is, in essence, a lava flow mountainside. They actually had to bring up dirt to put on the lava so they could try to grow a garden, but the “vog” is bad sometimes.
That would be a good place for an electric car, though.

Actually, it is like the Pacer in some ways. The car was actually a huge initial success even though they had to abandon the primary reason the car could be designed the way it was: GM refused to build the wankel engine it was supposed to use. They had to shoehorn a straight six into it. It worked, but not ideally.
But the styling was very, VERY futuristic. The car was VERY successful, until it wasn’t and then it died quickly.
I compare the Tesla because it caused an amazing stir, but has its obvious issues. Yet is is still something that turns heads somewhat, anyway. But once the shine wears off, not to mention government subsidies (something the pacer does NOT share with it), the company will probably fold, unless there is a major technology breakthrough to put these cars in the hands of millions of average Americans. Otherwise they just become another DeLorean.
free electricity HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
