To begin with - Trump needs to drain the swamp at the Pentagon as well.

I think Mad Dog will get the job done very nicely there.

Need to reverse some of the recent changes beginning with a rule that allows dreadlocks, beards, turbans, or hijabs for religious reasons. As a veteran of 24 years I find this appauling. Did the meaning of “uniform” change? This will result in futher reducing the cohesiveness of military units. I hope Mad Dog reverses this.

Mad Dog, it turns out, is a follower, student, and practitioner of the military reform effort of John Boyd, and such famed acolytes as Chuck Spinney and Pierre Sprey. Now, I know from interactions on this site that there are a number of grudge-grinds in DoD acquisitions that thought this move was long dead and supressed. I suggest anyone who thinks that get a copy of Maj. Gen. Scales on War: The Future of America's Military at Risk. You can read the free preface on the Amazon site.

Sounds like it is payback time for some corrupt careerists who genuinely deserve it. PS. One learns that Mattis was a devotee of Boyd's maneuver warfare and practiced it in GW1 and GW2. It is Marine Corps doctrine. Of course we all know that Col. Boyd was detested by the Air Force for giving them the F-16 and A-10. The Air Forced wanted neither real fighters nor close in support aircraft.
