I don’t remember the last time I watched them, if at all. Maybe some of it when Johnny Carson was the host? I could see myself watching at least his opening bit, but none of it was memorable. I think he was the host when they drummed up interest by leaking that a streaker was going to flash by.
I don't remember who the host was, but it was David Niven on stage perhaps giving out an award when the streaker went through. Niven's response is classic: "Isn't it fascinating that probably the only laugh that man will get is stripping off his clothes and showing us his shortcomings."
