In tone and substance the director of the CIA broke protocol and became partisan as he presumed to lecture the President-elect of the United States about his duties and how to "understand" the world. The man verged on rudeness and certainly violated the norm requiring an intelligence agent to hold himself above partisan politics.

Brennan has been one of the worst intelligence chiefs in my memory, but he is only one of a gang of partisan hacks that Obama has put in power such as two Attorneys General who likewise have violated the norms of their office.

Couldn’t agree with you more on this.

The CIA Director serves at the will of the president.

If he disagrees, his option is to resign, not undermine the president.

He can also use back channels to get his message across to the president.

You don’t air this stuff in public, because the whole conversation is in full view of our potential adversaries, and any discussion can tip off positions.

You are so right, that this is simply unprofessional to the max.

nathanbedford the only “norms” in our government now is corruption through and through!! PE Trump has his work cut out for him thank goodness the man is fearless!!!
