I walked about half the atoll - surprised they have any fresh water in the ground at all - where is the water table when 12’ is the highest point on the land?

We were on a 7 day cruise in 2001 I think......

Water table is about 4 to 6 feet down. They said that the water was sweet about half the year, then as the dry season progresses, the water gets more saline.

I have an idea for a small wind-powered pump to flash solar heated brackish water to vapor, then condense it for drinking water.

The physics looks good. Hopefully, the mechanics will work as envisioned.
