Arizona -(Ammoland.com)-
Miss Sloane was supposed to be an effective gun hater propaganda masterpiece. It should have been considering the money spent on it.
The production budget for Miss Sloane is reported at 18 million, with one of the top advertising budgets for movies, ever, of 15.9 million. Total box office, so far is just short of 3.2 million. It seems likely to be a major loser. Prospects for video sales look dim.
I did not see the movie. The ads and the premise were obviously a propaganda attempt, directly at odds with reality. That prompted me to avoid it. I refused to send them money. If I am to watch fantasy, let it be uplifting, fun, and exciting.
The latest Star Wars fantasy epic spent about the same amount on advertising. Box office receipts have been 50 times greater. I saw the Star Wars effort, Rogue One. It had some nice positive images for an armed population.
A conservative contributor at freerepublic.com took the effort to see Miss Sloane. Here is his response. From freerepublic.com:
No one wants to see a propaganda movie.
True, yet Miss Sloan, which I have seen, is astoundingly bad, even for a piece of Hollywood propaganda. The movie The Contender, which came out about 15 years ago, was reviewed by Elle magazine as having been written to elicit screening room ovations by Rob Reiner. Indeed, that movie was transparently leftist propaganda. However, The Contender also was well written, well acted, and well paced. I enjoyed watching it, even as I hooted at its obvious agenda. Miss Sloan, in contrast, is a snooze, lacking anything believable in the way of characters or dialogue.

Ping to utahagen, your review getting a wider audience.
This movie was obviously supposed to launch Pres. Clinton’s War on Guns. But then Election Day happened, and “Miss Sloan” is irrelevant.
When I was in college, a friend and I would purposely rent the worst propaganda movies and have pizza and beer while laughing at it. I remember “Testament” (post nuke story) was particularly amusing.
It’s a box office bomb but it’s going to live on in the public schools along side of “An inconvenient truth”.
I’m praying the newest Jennifer Lawrence flick bombs as well....Hell, I’m hoping almost every new offering from Hollywood bombs.....
Why? Because they all assume Hillary Clinton would be elected President. But that failed, and suddenly Hollywood has to deal with movies and TV shows that are out of touch with the changing political tastes of the moviegoing and TV view audience. That could result in some pretty expensive box office and TV ratings failures, which could put enormous financial stress on Hollywood.
Hence the reason why I mentioned the Wonder Woman movie now in post-production. Will Warner Brothers be forced to reshoot a number of scenes in that movie because it may be out of sync with the movie audience in the Trump Administration? Very important given the production and marketing costs may approach $190 million of Time Warner money.
Your target audience is Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi and Bloomberg fans. Using a sexy actress likely was not the best idea!
She’s not holding a Glock.
That’s why I wrote exactly that above the meme that I didn’t create.
I’ve heard of the urinate on yourself thing during attempted rape before.
I seriously doubt it if a person can urinate when that person is scared to death with adrenaline pumping away, much less even think of it. It’s a component of the fight or flight reaction, not being able to use the bathroom.
I wonder how many lefty bird brain women bought into this?
BTW, I’ve always thought of Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar) as being rather hot.
Yep.
I recall seeing the previews way before that fateful November day and thought———”Well that looks like something to NOT ever see even on netflix.” If it even ever gets there. Seems like there were a lot of folks who were pretty sure the hildabeast was a shoe in. Oopppssseeeee!
Yep, they were no doubt giddy at the thought of being the Ministers of Misinformation in Hillary’s New World Order....makes it even more delicious.
I saw one of the ‘trailers’ for it and the language was, at best, TV show level, predictable and sophomoric. That they can get people to pony up big bucks for this drivel always amazes.
The target audience is the Academy. This is what's known as a "prestige film" made to earn award nominations rather than money.
Interestingly, "Miss Sloan" isn't a Hollywood film, but rather EuropaCorp, the French film company founded by action director Luc Besson ("The Professional") and most famous for Liam Neeson's "Taken" and Jason Statham's "Transporter" Franchises.
Those are the violent, shoot-'em-ups that paid for this one.
Must be one of those new, steel framed glocks lol
I seriously doubt it if a person can urinate when that person is scared to death with adrenaline pumping away, much less even think of it......I’ve caught many the criminal that pissed/, shat / puked themselves when caught or shot at. (Always give them to the backup car “I’ve got to investigate further here”. You don’t want to smell that the rest of your shift)
IDEA! Add “your husband and children at dinnertime” to the tagline and repost it.
