Is it bad that people are irrational? That facts dont matter? The fact he's asking this question undermines the premise of his entire article.

Whole thing is nonsense. I will admit that people can be irrational, but I did not like Jeb! long before Trump aimed at him; I wanted a wall long before Trump mentioned it, etc. Everything Trump campaigned on are issues most of us were calling for for years. Some of them Trump himself had been calling for for years.

About the only thing I can say with regard to the "facts don't matter - therefore people are irrational" mantra neglects the fact that there is a very distinct difference between facts - that information promulgated by this government - and the truth.

Adams has become a figure here at Freep whom some take everything he says as “wise man on top of the mountain said it so it must be gospel”...I challenge that.
Some of what he says makes sense, however, boiling Trump’s campaign down to facts don’t matter is intellectually dishonest.
Trump won because many, many people know the facts and are smart, not because he sold them used cars. In this vein, Adams is insulting.
The truth matters and mattered to many.
The other side, from whence he came, BTW, ignore facts and math rules to project a fantasy world that can’t be created nor ever was.
Adams is a fart in the wind.
I put him a notch or two above Nate Silver, but that’s it.
There, I feel better.

This is silly insulting tripe. I see you are still posting articles (screed) trivializing Trump and his historic win. Butt hurt much?
Cruz sucked, face it.

People voted for Trump because after giving the House and Senate to people who said they would change things, they did NOT do squat. Trump stepped into the void of do-nothingness as the Can-Do candidate. Trump saw a weakness and exploited it.
Trump ran against 16 do-nothings to take the nomination because he was seen as the candidate to turn things around and not reach across the aisle to a bunch of back-stabbing Democrat loons.
Trump then ran the smartest campaign ever by focusing his energy in states he needed to win for Electoral College votes and not waste time in states he would not win in an effort to garner popular votes from illegal voters.
Plus he showed enormous energy, a complete disregard for the media which tactic resonated with voters, and never wavered from his original message.

Trump won, it will be more understood and appreciated in the future, because Americans have grown fatigued with FEELINGS as the basis of our government and our media and our culture. And that is ALL that Clinton and her supporters were peddling: feelings.
In a great sense, Adams is right. Hillary and her Hollyweird pals were and still are trying to sell us with irrationality. And that's not flying anymore.

I didn't want Jeb either. When Trump nailed him with low energy he was done.
So we sit here 60 days removed from the campaign which closed on the highest of all highs, the MSM meltdown on TV as they went from coronation to concern to crying on TV. I visit Youtube and replay segments because it is so funny. Enough of that.
So what do I remember about Trump's campaign? The wall. Immigration. Jobs. Make America great again. From Hillary only “deplorable”. Trump cut through and got to the issues that America was feeling and wanted addressed. Clinton was picking out drapes for the Oval Office.
