Hollywierd never learns. A halfway decent John Gresham novel Runaway Jury was destroyed when it was made into a movie and the bad guys were changed from 'evil tobacco' to the 'evil gun industry.'

It was a laughably implausible plot switch.

There was also some movie that was changed from evil Islamic terrorists to (I think) PO’d white guy terrorists.

Like America worries about PO’d white guy terrorists.

I don’t go to the movies anymore, but I do rent movies and occasionally buy some.

Recently, I paid $10 to rent a movie. I know that is a lot, but the movie wasn’t released for purchase, and I really wanted to see it.

The movie was “USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage” with Nicholas Cage playing the role of Captain Mcvay.

I have read quite a bit, and had the opportunity back in the nineties to spend several hours with one of the senior surviving officers, and talked on a wide range of subjects, so when I saw there was a movie, I was in the middle of reading another book about it and just had to see it.

So, I spent $10 to rent it.

Worst. Movie. Ever. Most wasted $10 in my life, and I have wasted $10 on things that should be worse.

“Based on a true story” as they said, it was “based” on it. But it was so far away from anything, that I turned it off after 15 minutes. It was that bad.

The subject is a compelling subject that should be known by all Americans, and they turned into some corny love story, a story about racial relations, you have it. It really angered me.

Same with the story about “The Monuments Men” who were art specialists in WWII they sent to the fronts in Europe in WWII to try to find and protect art. Great, fascinating, compelling, true story that we should all know about, excellent book. Then they made a complete farce of the movie, turning it into a cartoon, with idiots like George Clooney, Matt Damon, John Goodman, Cate Blanchett, etc.

This stuff angers me, because I know that there exists a huge portion of the population that gets their understanding (sad to say) from TV and movies. I view it as an opportunity, but...they put out this crap.

13 Million is a drop in the bucket for Hollyweird “Virtue Signalling.”

Yes...that was BAD! Even MORE egregious was when they changed the bad guys from Arab Terrorists to a White European Business Man in The Sum of All Fears.
