After the death of one of the world’s supreme villains, Fidel Castro, on November 25th, the left in America typically embarrassed themselves by making outrageous statements concerning the ‘career’ of a man who was an assassin, a mass murderer, a butcher, a dictator and who is no doubt sitting in Hades for eternity.
Jill Stein, the defunct Green Party presidential candidate and current Soros sycophant Tweeted the following after the death of El Comandante. “Fidel Castro was a symbol of the struggle for justice in the shadow of empire. Presente!”
Presente! Dr. Stein? You’re saluting the totalitarian thug?
For Castro, justice was a firing squad. Due process was torture. Habeas corpus was imprisonment without trial.
Not to be outdone by Stein’s total naivete, was Canadian Prime Minister and all around hipster fool, Justin Trudeau, who made the following statement upon the death of Castro:
“Fidel Castro was a larger than life leader who served his people for almost half a century. While a controversial figure, both Mr. Castro’s supporters and detractors recognized his tremendous dedication and love for the Cuban people who had a deep and lasting affection for ‘el Comandante,’ He added that Mr. Castro was “a legendary revolutionary and orator and a remarkable leader” whose death had brought him “deep sorrow.”
Good God.
Today, in an interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News, Geraldo Rivera called Castro charismatic and praised him for providing health services for the Cuban people, while also praising Castro’s anti-literacy efforts.
In Geraldo’s mind, providing free Band Aids for Cubans is a moral substitute for the murder of political opponents. In Geraldo’s mind, giving Cuban children Curious George books in Spanish seems to make up for the thousands that were tortured in Castro’s prisons. In Geraldo’s mind, the fact that Castro was charismatic and tall, dark and handsome erases his crimes against humanity for nearly sixty years.
Hitler was also charismatic Geraldo…
East Germany also had free health care Geraldo…
Literacy rates in the Soviet Union were also high Geraldo…
So what?
Many of Geraldo’s comments were also parroted by the man currently dragging the NFL into the toilet and ratings oblivion, San Francisco 49ers quarterback and Millennial moron, Colin Kaepernick.
Stein, Trudeau, Rivera and Kaepernick need to take a serious look at the crimes committed by Castro and his regime, since he seized power on the island in 1959.
According to the Cuba Archive, since seizing power on January 1, 1959, 5,728 Cubans were executed under the Castro regime by firing squad. At least 100 of these firing squads were commanded by Castro enforcer, Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara, another hero of the left. Another 1,207 people were executed by other methods. Other estimates are much higher and state that nearly 30,000 Cubans were executed by firing squad, and another 7,000 Cubans died from lack of medical care and torture in Cuban gulags.

During the mid 1960s Fidel Castro’s regime in Cuba created a system of labor camps euphemistically called “Military Units in Aid of Production,” known better the Spanish acronym UMAP. By this time considerable opposition to the Cuban Revolution had developed and Castro, in order to maintain the stability of his rule, needed a mechanism whereby he could neutralize undesirables.
Internment in a UMAP could be precipitated by any of the following actions: refusing to engage in “volunteer” work on behalf of the Revolution, being homosexual, being a Jehovah’s Witness, being a Seventh Day Adventist, refusing collectivization. Additionally, among those also rounded up and sent to the UMAPs were members of the Catholic and Protestant clergy.
The InterAmerican Commission for Human Rights of the Organization of American States (OAS) estimated in a report on Cuba that at one point there were 30,000 Cuban citizens interned in the UMAP system.
In addition to forced labor, internees were forced to undergo ideological “re-education.” Beatings, malnourishment and death were common in the UMAPs. Thousands perished in Castro’s prisons through torture and disease.
Added to these numbers are the 16,000 Cubans who have died in Castro’s military adventures in Africa, Central America, in the Caribbean and during the Bay of Pigs Invasion.
Nearly 77,000 Cubans have died at sea attempting to flee Castro’s Cuba and reach the United States, 90 miles away.
To those who tried to flee from Castro’s tropical prison, the punishment, if caught was severe:
On July 13, 1994, at approximately 3:00 a.m., 72 Cuban nationals who were attempting to leave the island for the United States put out to sea from the port of Havana in an old tugboat named “13 de Marzo”. The boat used for the escape belonged to the Maritime Services Enterprise of the Ministry of Transportation.
According to eyewitnesses who survived the disaster, no sooner had the tug “13 de Marzo” set off from the Cuban port than two boats from the same state enterprise began pursuing it. About 45 minutes into the trip, when the tug was seven miles away from the Cuban coast–in a place known as “La Poceta”–two other boats belonging to said enterprise appeared, equipped with tanks and water hoses, proceeded to attack the old tug. “Polargo 2,” one of the boats belonging to the Cuban state enterprise, blocked the old tug “13 de Marzo” in the front, while the other, “Polargo 5,” attacked from behind, splitting the stern. The two other government boats positioned themselves on either side and sprayed everyone on deck with pressurized water, using their hoses.
The pleas of the women and children on the deck of the tug “13 de Marzo” did nothing to stop the attack. The boat sank, with a toll of 41 dead. Many people perished because the jets of water directed at everyone on deck forced them to seek refuge in the engine room. The survivors also affirmed that the crews of the four Cuban government boats were dressed in civilian clothes and that they did not help them when they were sinking.
Besides the executions, the gulags, the torture and the deaths at sea, Castro’s regime regularly repressed religious leaders, separated families and restricted the movement of Cubans.
Cuba was also an economic disaster for 57 years, another symbol of communism’s dismal failure, which couldn’t provide the barest household necessities for a Cuban family.
Yet, with all these facts readily available to the world about Castro’s Cuba, the left still worships the man as a freedom fighter for the oppressed Cuban people. The people of Cuba were oppressed for one reason and one reason only; Castro and his regime despised freedom, and those in power in Cuba still do.
So Jill Stein, Justin Trudeau, Geraldo and Colin Kaepernick, when you glorify El Comandante, you can…
Tell that to those executed in Castro’s Cuba.
Tell that to the people tortured in Castro’s Cuba.
Tell that to those imprisoned unjustly in Castro’s Cuba.
Tell that to those who have lived in a Third World rathole because of communist economic policies for the last 57 years.
Tell that to those who know the truth about communism and the truth is that communism is darkness and death and nothing else.
Cuba is still a communist country, run by Fidel’s brother, Raul. Until Raul Castro is gone and with him, the Cuban communist government, nothing will change, no matter what John Kerry and Barack Obama believe.

Do people forget that he shelters murderers and other criminals from the U.S. law enforcement?
Castro was a communist in name only, but the mass murdering part is spot on.
He was anti-American, which is what makes a hero to the left.

If that’s what made him the ultimate evil, people here in the US have a hell of a lot of introspection to do.
I bet I could still find a hundred people on this board alone who have no problem whatsoever with torture and indefinite imprisonment without trial: just mention Guantanamo.
I propose we elevate ourselves from the cesspool of self-congratulatory hypocrisy and deception, and use this occasion to face the immutable fact that as many of our leaders have been every bit as evil as Castro, if not more so.
People forget so quickly how close we came to President Hillary Clinton.
For some people Uncle Joe will always be Uncle Joe. These paradises erect walls to keep their people from fleeing. Other countries build walls to keep people out. Can these “progressives” not put two and two together?
Liberal elites and the press looked the other way... they saw nothing...
Makes one wonder what they would be okay with here in the states...so long as a democrat is doing it, of course.
