One place where conventional psychology really bombs out is in the spiritual sphere.
A child who is really spiritually sensitive may be led by perceptions of things that more “normal” people scarcely notice, if notice at all.
A spiritual counselor, and/or a pastor, may be the best resource to discuss matters with such a child.
Yes... Back in the 70s they really loved to go after people who were religious. I even remember a youtube channel run by a psychiatrist in California say that when people are religious, what they mean is they are mentally disturbed.
In Australia and Italy, mystics and people who were religious were often branded with schizophrenia and locked away "for their own good." I even remember it happening to one Polish Nun who got locked away by the commies.
It still goes on in the EU and parts of Eastern Europe though not as much. Usually they're just forcibly drugged up.
