I think Romney is a mistake. Fools gold glitters, too, but it’s still fool’s gold.

Not to equate the two, but Lincoln’s arch-rival was William H. Seward, who said unkind things about him when they were both competing for the 1860 Republican nomination. Still, he made him his Secretary of State. At first Seward continued to consider himself Lincoln’s superior. But Seward soon learned who the superior was, and he actually turned out to be a very supportive and useful SOS.

I can't see why Romney gets the nod....so many other well qualified people who can implement the new Trump policy of "America First"

Still waiting for a Trumpian "unexpected" pick.

Clever but that’s all emotional BS over campaign stuff. Romney is a smart guy, proven entrepreneur and turnaround expert who bulit “a fantastic company” and a Governor who made it to the top of the political game. That gets him an interview. In a meritocracy you don’t operate like children who hold grudges, you hire the best person available for a job and Romney may or may not be that person. Unlike many here, I do not believe I am smarter that Trump and his team, have access to his thoughts, plans, and information, nor do I know any of these people personally. I trust his judgement.

I think people are getting way too worked up about this. A day or two ago, Michelle Rhee was a lock for Dept. of Education according to the Old Media. Who knows what’ll happen with DoS?

Dear Donald Trump=> You Know Damn Well Mitt Romney Is “The Snake” – Do Not Let Him In

I suspect Trump is playing a version of "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer". It somewhat nullifies a lot of the criticisms leveled at him during the campaign.

Personally, I would be vindictive and not forgive Romney. But Trump is a businessman who knows how to put aside personal feelings to employ the best person for the job. I trust Trump’s judgment.

Romney would be a good choice to fix the VA. It’s a very specific and limited mandate. He can’t compromise or pollute the rest of the administration. It shows he’s above grudges. And I actually think Romney could do a great job.

Secretary of State, not so much.

I’m pretty sure a Trump win means the end of the KLINTOONS, BUSHES, SLICK WILLARD, and a host of GOP douchebags like McCain and Linseed Graham.

MYTH SLICK WILLARD ROMNEY, BISHOP FROM KOLOB , IS DONE.

If Mitt Romney is the SOS he will primary Trump in 2020. He is all about Mitt and he’s proven that

You have it all wrong. Or better: you all have it wrong.

Mitt didn't like Trumps caddy behaviour and thought it unbecoming of a President. (probably true)

He's since seen Donald can be serious and they share some goals (amnesty not one of them).

Romney is a patriot and great at what he does...run things well and project a good image.

We'll see if they can work from the same script re: amnesty and Russia.

Lots of folks getting diaper rash from wadded panties on this. Winning hurts so bad that they need to find some way to convince themselves we actually lost.
