Dear Donald Trump=> You Know Damn Well Mitt Romney Is “The Snake” – Do Not Let Him In

“The Snake” is a song and single released by American singer Al Wilson in 1968, and written by Oscar Brown in 1963. The lyrics tell a story inspired by Aesop’s fable of The Farmer and the Viper.

Republican candidate Donald Trump read the lyrics at several campaign rallies to illustrate his position on the Syrian refugee crisis.

Trump read “The Snake” at his Bloomington, Illinois earlier this year.

— Steve (@HQDev) March 13, 2016

On her way to work one morning
Down the path along side the lake
A tender hearted woman saw a poor half frozen snake
His pretty colored skin had been all frosted with the dew
“Oh well,” she cried, “I’ll take you in and I’ll take care of you”
“Take me in oh tender woman
Take me in, for heaven’s sake
Take me in oh tender woman, ” sighed the snake

She wrapped him up all cozy in a curvature of silk
And then laid him by the fireside with some honey and some milk
Now she hurried home from work that night as soon as she arrived
She found that pretty snake she’d taking in had been revived
“Take me in, oh tender woman
Take me in, for heaven’s sake
Take me in oh tender woman, ” sighed the snake

Now she clutched him to her bosom, “You’re so beautiful,” she cried
“But if I hadn’t brought you in by now you might have died”
Now she stroked his pretty skin and then she kissed and held him tight
But instead of saying thanks, that snake gave her a vicious bite
“Take me in, oh tender woman
Take me in, for heaven’s sake
Take me in oh tender woman, ” sighed the snake

“I saved you,” cried that woman
“And you’ve bit me even, why?
You know your bite is poisonous and now I’m going to die”
“Oh shut up, silly woman,” said the reptile with a grin
“You knew damn well I was a snake before you took me in.

There are reports this week that Mitt Romney is a leading candidate for Secretary of State in the Trump administration.

Mitt Romney was a top critic of Donald Trump during the campaign. His quotes made it into several Hillary ads against Donald Trump.
Trump supporters unanimously hate the idea.

You have it all wrong. Or better: you all have it wrong.

Mitt didn't like Trumps caddy behaviour and thought it unbecoming of a President. (probably true)

He's since seen Donald can be serious and they share some goals (amnesty not one of them).

Romney is a patriot and great at what he does...run things well and project a good image.

We'll see if they can work from the same script re: amnesty and Russia.

Lots of folks getting diaper rash from wadded panties on this. Winning hurts so bad that they need to find some way to convince themselves we actually lost.

In the words of Donald J Trump:

Seems that he understood Willard pretty well during the campaign. Mittens hasn't changed.

seems the psychology today is so much that being a winner is bad that people prefer to lose and whine. ugh.

There’s a difference in destroying a rival in a campaign and making use of potential talent once one is in power. Anyone who thinks Trump is naive enough to sabotage what he has worked so hard for hasn’t been paying attention and deserves no attention.

Yep - seem that far too many have bought into the metro-sexual role w/o their being aware of it. they feel guilty about winning and have to find ways to “rectify” it....

…and deserves no attention.

In that case, feel free to not attend.

Agree completely with “keep your friends close and your enemies closer.” Plus, Trump is wisely letting Gingrich and Huckabee put all the legitimate concerns about Romney out there, thus letting Romney know that Trump knows the score. Therefore, Romney will have to think carefully before accepting (if he's offered the spot).

I like Guiliani, but I think the left has something on him — perhaps not something legitimate, but something they can use against him to derail him AFTER he's confirmed. Romney has been vetted time and again. If Trump decides to offer him the Secretary of State position, and Romney accepts, he'll be a loyal and good SofS.

It’s not that Romney isn’t a conservative, it’s that he made that speech against Trump, where he also was basically calling us hateful.

Trump will also not be attending.

I know he won't attend to my comments. Now will he be attending the the thousands of tweets that are up on "#NeverRomney"? Don't know about that.

Funny how "our side" ignores his accomplishments and facility for getting the job done, second guesses him every step of the way and blasts him with pressure - very similar to what the Left is doing to Electors and in trying to get recounts, and thinks their doing something useful.

If he doesn't deserve a little bit of trust that he knows what he'd doing, then nobody does.
