Our New Attorney General Spells Trouble for Hillary Clinton
by S. Noble November 18, 2016
Bloomberg is reporting that Trumps longtime backer, Senator Jeff Sessions, will become the U.S. Attorney General. Many of us will not miss Loretta Lynch and her unjust Justice Department.
The 69-year old, four term Alabama Republican Conservative holds a tough stance on illegal immigration and so-called free trade that are bad deals for American workers. He does not believe that non-immigrants in the U.S. have consitutional rights and is opposed to efforts to overhaul prison sentencing.
Sessions, a former federal prosecutor, defended Trumps call to temporarily shut down Muslim immigration into the U.S. He felt it appropriate to begin to discuss it.
Sessions, the son of a grocery store owner, received his undergraduate degree from Huntingdon College in Montgomery and his law degree from the University of Alabama. After years in private practice, he became the U.S. attorney for Alabama in 1981 at age 34. Sessions has served as a captain in the Army Reserve and as an Alabama state attorney general.
A decision that will hit his desk early-on will be whether to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Hillary Clintons email practices. Sessions called for a special prosecutor before the election.
The fundamental thing is you cannot be Secretary of State of the United States of America and use that position to extort or seek contributions to your private foundation, Sen. Sessions told a CNN host recently. That is a fundamental violation of law and that does appear to have happened here.....
