What has been seen cannot be unseen, what has been said cannot be unsaid, what can be heard cannot be unheard.

Information gathered by this government will NEVER disappear or be completely controlled. Even if the President himself demand to see the repositories and witness their destruction that data would have already be moved to a safe haven he knows nothing about.

But, while one cannot stop all crime, one can, by virtue of laws, make the commission of a crime much less likely. Make the price of the use of personal information of the type we are talking about, extremely expensive, jail/fines/etc.., and the use of same will diminish.
