I voted yes on 2 however, the libs are determined to vote no and since this is Massachusetts...
I voted no on question 2. The reality, at least in Massachusetts, is that they won’t improve, or fire bad teachers, or hold students to higher standards. They’ll point to public schools’ lagging performance as a reason to raise taxes to pour even more money into the public school system...I’m not interested in paying even more in taxes.
If the GOP had two brain cells to run together, IMHO, after immigration, they would be all in for school choice, and a real school choice, i.e. every school-aged child in America gets a voucher for the cost of a public school education, and they can use that however and wherever they want, charter, parochial, private, public, magnet, even home schooling. Do that, and guaranteed within two decades, the Democratic Party as we know it and the left in general, would be finished.
All public schools need to be shut down nation wide. There is NO ‘right’ to a publicly subsidized education. It is a socialist institution and completely worthless. I went to catholic schools despite growing up in a poor family. If you have a kid that’s capable of going to school there are many resources that you could turn to if you can’t afford tuition.
The voucher programs only perpetuate the Marxist educational system.
