I hate it when I am forced to see CNN in an airport, turnpike rest stop, library cafe, etc. Does CNN give these places a special deal on their cable bill if they are always shown?
CNN is shown in those places because they are perceived (or used to be) as middle of the road leaning left whereas you have Fox on the right and MSNBC on the left. CNN is now just as bad as MSNBC (if not worse). I don’t watch MSNBC. To your point, though, I don’t know if there is some sort of contract/deal beyond that or not. I wonder how CNN’s ratings would be if you subtract out public places that have them on.

The CNN monopoly makes me angry, too. They must have an agreement of exclusivity with the mother of all airport authorities. Who is getting big bucks to make this happen?
