This thesis doesn’t hold up very well. The King James Bible, the very vehicle that brought enlightenment to so many English souls, was the work of (King) James Stuart. If he was so determined to preserve the myth of Divine Right, it hardly seems logical that he would sponsor the instrument of his own demise.
