In comparison to the 2012 cumulative totals, this year's in-person absentee ballots are where things stood four years ago (733,269 compared to 2012's same day total of 733,745). In terms of party registration performance, registered Republicans have met their same numbers from four years ago, while registered Democrats are down 11 percent, and registered unaffiliated voters are 30 percent ahead of where they were the same day in 2012.

In 2012, blacks at this point were 31% of turnout. Today they are 22%. Whites were 64% of turnout at this point in 2012 but 73% of voting so far. These are very, very bad signs for Democrats in a state Romney won in 2012 and may portend poor AA turnout across the country for Clinton. The only hope the Democrats have is that the reduced # of early voting stations is dis proportionally hurting them but the trend in early voting is getting worse each day (yesterday D were only 9% behind last year, 11% now)
Based on early voting in FL, Ohio, NC and Iowa, it's safe to say at this point that any poll showing Trump down 10% or so is complete nonsense.
I’ve noticed the same trend in FL - Dems initially kept pace, but are falling further behind each day ...
based on national polls - I’d venture independents going to go 55-60% Trump
your thoughts ?
Does anyone know if the military ballots from overseas are going to be counted this time around - is anybody watching and making sure?
They got ‘lost’ last time, and nobody seemed to care very much.
Aside from that being an atrocity, we need all the Trump votes counted.
I’m a proud “Unaffiliated Voter” for TRUMP!!!!
Can you give us some good examples?
I'm starting feel better about this election as the early voting comes in. Solid data that the I's are favoring Trump would be good news indeed. Hoping you have some.
Sounds good. But is this the latest ? I thought that numbers from yesterday showed early voting in NC for both parties up from 2012 and the Dems actually running ahead.
I would rather this takes the Democrats by surprise on November 8 way too late for them to even cheat to win.
“The Dems seem better at responding to situations like this and the GOPe is sulking like Achilles in his tent over getting curb stomped in the primary.”
Plot twist 2016: The Gopes aren’t in charge this time.
Early voting allows the Dems to use their superior GOTV operation. It also aids in voter fraud as they go thru the voter registration rolls to identify those who are either dead or who haven’t voted in a long time. They can then bus their bogus voters from polling place to polling place to vote.
In general, North Carolina Unaffiliated voters are more Conservative (49%) than Moderate (33%) or Liberal (15%). Thats because on fiscal issues, like taxes and government spending, Unaffiliated voters are more Conservative (52%) than either Moderate (34%) or Liberal (10%). However, on social issues, like abortion and marriage, Unaffiliated voters are twice as Liberal (31%). Only 40% consider themselves Conservative on social issues, with 26% saying they are Moderate. Thats 57% who are either Moderate (26%) or Liberal (31%).
will reporter heads pop like the end of the movie “kingsmen”?
independent preferences are always buried deep in the polling data, but every one I spent the time checking showed DJT winning Indy’s by big margins
That is the reality of that 10+ point enthusiasm gap that Trump has had all cycle.... The excited Dems are few and far between. They will show up early and peter off because there aren’t nearly as many as Trump has.
Other than som flagrantly cooked polls, Trump has had a 10+ point lead with Independents all cycle.
That doesn’t matter, says Meghan Kelly! Election is over.
They just don’t get it.
