“Do your best to love your family. Politics isn’t worth it. Not even close.”


I do love most of my family and I am never ever the one to start the argument—ever. But I’m tired of being the polite doormat at family gatherings. I have a right to speak up, and I will.

This election is too important for me to sit back and let the stupid, false things that are said go unanswered. The future of our country, our children and grandchildren are at stake.

I typically tell my Lib family members that I disagree with them but am happy to fight for their liberty too.

All three of my dear daughters voted for Hillary.

The youngest is so incensed that we voted for Trump that she unfriended us on Facebook, blocked us on her phone, and will only communicate with us via email. She says she’s ashamed of us and we are not up to her moral standards.

I got a card in the mail today: a thank you from Planned Parenthood. Apparently my daughter made a donation to them in my name.

Not sure how to fix a cleft that wide and deep.
