It causes extreme tiredness, breathlessness and swelling of the legs and is a long-term condition that can’t be cured.

It causes low magnesium. Mg supplements take care of it, especially transdermal magnesium.

Probably all NSAIDs do.

Take it twice a day. I wondered why the doctor at my last check up winced when I told him. Back to aspirin I guess.

I’m sure it’s harder on a person than a plant that has been used for thousands of years.

But no, too many know betters use the DEA as a source. Ignorance is destroying America, not malfeasance.

If you are a true American, stand up and be counted. FUislam and all its trash that follows in its wake.

Oh dear: I hope this is another case of media hype of one study. I rely on Ibu for relief of rheumatoid arthritis. Chemo once a week seems to be stopping further deterioration, but I depend on it for daily pain relief. I have scrips for more potent pain relievers, but I’m averse to using them. My docs have not frowned on my daily dose of typically up to 800 mg of ibu.

Yours is an important post. A good friend of mine took ibuprofen for every little ache and pain she had. The ibuprofen ended up killing her...liver failure.

Ibuprofen should have a black box warning on it.

My heart doc says I can’t take Alieve which for me is a real miracle pain killer. I took both asperin and ibuprofen years before my heart attack, 3 years ago.

Ibopofen and acetomenophin (sp) never had much effect on my aches, but Aleve did. After too many years taking it, finally weaned off all painkillers and just deal with all the ancient insults to my body along with current ones.

Figure living with the aches lets me know I am still alive, after a fashion.

Of course most people are not using ibuprofen long term. Its usually short term and if pain continues then you see a doctor. I used turmeric for a leg pain I had last week.

I have two brothers who died of stroke/heart attack at age 53...both took a lot of Aleve.

Aleve can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke, especially if you use it long term or take high doses, or if you have heart disease. Even people without heart disease or risk factors could have a stroke or heart attack while taking this medicine.

Pretty much true of all the NSAIDS except Aspirin. Acetaminophen is OK because it’s not an NSAID, but just don’t take so much that it literally destroys your liver.

Folks with heart problems should NEVER take anything but Aspirin or acetaminophen.

Oh, and NSAIDS (Aspirin expluded) can destroy you kidneys. No joking. Worst of all for kidney desruction is the triple-threat induced by an ACE/ARB + a diuretic + NSAID.

Folks, DO NOT TAKE NSAIDS with a diuretic and an ACE/ARB.
