YPSILANTI, MI -- More than two weeks after Eastern Michigan University staff discovered racial graffiti spray painted outside of King Hall, students returned to the spot on Thursday, Oct. 6, seeking to create unity and heal as a campus community.
While the the spray paint was gone, the pain associated with the incident was still present for many students. A silent protest march organized by EMU student Desmine Robinson, however, aimed to remove some of the tension associated with the hateful act.
"We want to kill racism and I know we can't chase that feeling out of everyone, but if we can change the mind of even one person, that's what we're trying to do," Robinson said.
After gathering and observing a moment of silence for those who had lost their lives to acts of hatred, about 80 students, faculty, staff and police marched from Pittman Hall to King Hall.
When they arrived students posed together with posters containing positive messages to take a photo in the same spot where racist graffiti once captured the attention across the country on Sept. 20....

‘Unity’ seems indistinguishable from groupthink.
Yet another hoax.
Awwwwwwww sticks and stones, Little Snowflakes
Now try studying for a change, and something worthwhile outside of your “African American Studies” major
Not only a hoax, but these people were in pain from this????? ahhh, once again, delicate widdle flowers.
And taxpayers will soon be paying for their four year vacation if Democrats have their way.
Why haven’t they done the same at a Trump graffiti? They have to go to a room and be hugged and counseled.
The horror...
.
That's as far as I could stomach. What a bunch of widdle weenies. Their parents need to be slapped hard for failing to raise them to become competent functioning adults.
A number of schools in my area have suffered “racist graffiti” writing in chalk on the sidewalks over the last 6 months.
I’m wondering what the students and teachers will do when they see this graffiti on their TV almost daily.
Will they have to protest every time someone is watching the TV and sees “President Trump” in the news scroll at the bottom?
Can they protest individually or will they need to gather a number of others to participate and comfort each other?
Can they take the offensive TV to a “safe space” for everyone to gather?
Or will the gathering need to be at the location of the TV when the “racist graffiti” was seen?
Will campuses need to stop TVs from showing anything other that “cute kitten videos” in order to avoid the psychological damage students may suffer from seeing “racist graffiti”?
What did it say to shock our collective weak minded consciousnesses ? “BLACK LIVES MATTER”?
I don’t believe this was done by a white student. Who in their right mind would risk being killed spray painting this anywhere.
My alma mater. So sad, it has turned into a giant community college.
Maybe they meant “Leave N*****s Alone” and they were surprised in the middle of spray painting.
What was the graffiti? “Black Lives Matter”? “No Justice, No Peace”? “Kill Whitey”? “Check Your Privilege”?
Or was it the UN-politically correct kind?
My pore li’l heart is rendered, absolutely RENDERED!!! Where can I send money to buy mobile fainting couches fo’ de po’ li’l dahlings?
Where are the frat parties?
Wonder which member of BLM is responsible?
