As the finale of the 2016 USA presidential election looms closer Donald Trump is easily beating Hillary Clinton amongst printing executives.
A total of 62 per cent of printing executives in the USA are throwing their support behind Trump, while Clinton only managed to win just 28 per cent of respondents.
According to a survey directed at industry executives, out of the four major industries polled, Trump managed to score the most votes from printers.
In a white male-dominated industry, it is not surprising the majority of American printers have joined the Trump camp. Male voters are a crucial pillar of support for Trumps presidential campaign.
The priority issue which drove printing industry members to support Trump was the economy.
When prompted about which candidate would benefit the US economy, 63 per cent of all respondents answered Trump. This means a whopping 70 per cent of printing executives believe Trump make a better president when it comes to growing the countrys economy.
The poll saw 24 per cent of Trump supporters choosing to vote for the divisive candidate simply because he is the best of whats available, whilst 35 per cent do not believe in the alternative candidate. Some 42 per cent of Trump backers stated they believe in the candidate.
Other industries polled in the survey include the non-profit sector, consumer electronics and promotional products industry. The group with the highest support for Clinton is promotional products, with 60 per cent of voters stating they believe in the candidate.
The industry survey itself was held before the widely televised Presidential Debate which may have swayed polls in one direction.
Those evil white males at it again
I worked for a printer/publisher. Tariffs on Red Chinese exports would be attractive to many of them.
Darn them for inventing everything since fire and the wheel.
The group with the highest support for Clinton is promotional products...
What would be a promotional product?
Group with literate customers (printers) go Trump, the salesholes (promotional products) go Hillary. No surprises there.
April didn’t learn the Journalism code of ethics apparently.
Guess she’s trying to venture out beyond her High School news letter.

Looks like the source is Australia.
thanks! why would they be pro hillary?
just a fluke maybe?
A friend of mines family owns a large commercial printer in Illinois (once we were the printing capitol of the world), and EPA regulations and paper tariffs have dramatically hurt his business over the last 20 years.
They once employed over 1,000 people, now down to around 100 I think.
He explained that it was cheaper in many cases to have a large print run done in China or Mexico, have it SHIPPED here on ocean cargo (even when oil prices were at the top) than it would be for him to print the job right here in the states (and they are a non-union shop).
In the end though, his biggest gripe is the EPA. At first, they were all forced to put in catalytic afterburners for emissions, which put out cleaner air than that of what they were taking in. Now he says they have to pay by the cubic ton of all air they emit (even though it is cleaner than the air they take in from the surrounding streets). He just says it kills them and any profit margins.
anything you can stick a logo on for advertising purposes.
I worked in the promotional products industry for 35 years. The fact that the majority support her is not surprising. The are two sub sections in this industry. The supplier who actually manufactures the promo items and the Distributors who in turn resell it to end users with clients logo imprinted as shown above. These people are some of the most self centered people I’ve come across. They are back stabbing people that would sell their mothers for an order with a profit margin of $100.00 or less. Don’t get me wrong. There were still a lot of really great conservative people that I dealt with or knew of. My boss made the decision to close doors after 37 years because he saw the writing on the wall. We as a supplier were being pushed out by Chinese carp bought in that would fall apart in a day or so, but the price was right. Years ago I did business based on dedication and loyalty to my customers. Now it’s just cheapest price. Was going to say it was most likely the Distributors that chose H, but the suppliers have mostly all merged and they don’t want the gravy train to stop either. Trump would stop it by putting tariffs on all this overseas buying. Just my 2 cents from someone who knows the industry.
American printers themselves have a long association with, and advancement of, literacy. Some notable printers in our history: John Peter Zenger, Ben Franklin, Walt Whitman, Mark Twain.
