Contemporary Indians flee to America to escape all that. While India is awkwardly lurching towards the 21st century, it is in spite of the culture of corruption, not because of it.
Indians in America are very closely aligned with Conservative values. Family, faith, hard work, an entrepreneurial spirit with most businesses that are family owned. India is a country with the fastest growing MBA group in the world; advanced degrees are actively pursued.
It comes as no surprise whatsoever that they would align with Trump.
