"Pure conservative"

Posted on 08/28/2016 9:00:04 PM PDT by stolinsky

McCain wasn't a pure conservative, so we got Obama. Romney wasn't a pure conservative, so we got Obama again. Now we're hearing that Trump isn't a pure conservative. As a result, are we going to be stuck with Hillary for four years--and with her Supreme Court nominees for decades?

After Pearl Harbor, we fired the admiral and general in charge in Hawaii. But we kept the Chief of Naval Operations in Washington for a few months. He was a well-liked man known for mentoring young officers. But soon he was replaced by Admiral King. He was known to be abrasive and was feared by young officers. His own daughter said he was the most even-tempered officer in the Navy--always in a rage. But he had the reputation of getting thing done. He did. He remained at the head of our Navy through the victorious conclusion of the war. When he took over in Washington, he is said to have remarked, "When they get into trouble, the send for us SOBs"

His philosophy of leadership could be summed up by this story: When asked what his policy toward the press would be, he replied, "Tell them nothing. When the war is over, tell them who won."

Is Trump that kind of SOB? He very well might be. Is he a "pure conservative"? I don't care.

January 21, 2016, the pathological liar Ted Cruz claimed he lost health coverage because of obamacare.

Ted the natural born Canadian willingly attempted to subvert our Constitution.

Oh, how about that 500,000 quiet money he paid off iCarly early in the campaign season.. Apparently Cruz is a womanizer at least it was reported that his wife and iCarly had it out in a pizza shop potty about the Ted Cruz and iCarly affair...

Ted Cruz carried Mitch the Senate's water, until Mitch the Senate refused to have the Senate resolve Ted Cruz the natural born Canadian eligible to hold the office of president... Ted Cruz took to the Senate floor and called Mitch the Senate a liar.

Want more.. I expect not...

“These are the reasons why we threw over a real conservative?”

He got thrown over because he is a slimball of a person. He could be the greatest Constitutionalist since it was written but he can’t be trusted, IMO, based on his horrible statements against Trump after the Chicago thugs did their evil. His dishonorable choice at the RNC convention to not endorse Trump showed me he is all about him. Nothing less, nothing more. He can best serve the nation in private life, IMO.

Vote Trump 2016

No comparison actually. There wasn’t mass institutional opposition to McCain and Romney, even though they are arguably liberal Republicans. I still don’t understand it.

We will see. Do voters want status quo - records on food stamps, China cheating on trade, illegals taking jobs, the hollowing out of the middle class, and making policy beneficial to Goldman Sachs? I'm not sure they want something better.

Funny thing is the Democrats have abandoned the middle class, but the working and middle class haven’t yet figured that out. In time I hope they realize the GOP, at least under Trump and not the cheap labor express Republicans, is closer to their interests.

January 21, 2016, the pathological liar Ted Cruz claimed he lost health coverage because of obamacare.

Pathological? Really! Here is an account of what actually happened:

While campaigning in New Hampshire on Thursday, Sen. Cruz claimed that he was currently without health insurance, “You know who one of those millions of Americans who’s lost their health care because of Obamacare? That would be me. I don’t have health care right now. I had purchased an individual policy, and Blue Cross Blue Shield canceled all their individual policies in the state of Texas effective December 31st. So our health care got canceled. We got a notice in the mail. Blue Cross Blue Shield was leaving the market.”

His didn’t make sense because people don’t get only a single letter in the mail and dropped. What Cruz was describing did not sound real because it wasn’t.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the Cruz campaign was forced to admit that he had been moved to another plan.

Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier said Friday that Mr. Cruz’s insurance broker had told him that he lost his health coverage when his Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas preferred provider organization or PPO, policy terminated on Dec. 31.

But Mr. Cruz had in fact been automatically enrolled by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas in another, narrower-network “health maintenance organization” plan that kept him covered in January.

----------------------

Ted the natural born Canadian willingly attempted to subvert our Constitution.

Subvert? Really! If you keep looking you might find a federal judge somewhere will agree with you but none yet has.

Oh, how about that 500,000 quiet money he paid off iCarly early in the campaign season.. Apparently Cruz is a womanizer at least it was reported that his wife and iCarly had it out in a pizza shop potty about the Ted Cruz and iCarly affair...

How about it? Of all the lies this is the second worst coming just behind the insinuation that Rafael Cruz is complicit in the murder of John F. Kennedy. Keep this stuff up and you will divide every Cruz supporter from you on election day.

Ted Cruz carried Mitch the Senate's water, until Mitch the Senate refused to have the Senate resolve Ted Cruz the natural born Canadian eligible to hold the office of president... Ted Cruz took to the Senate floor and called Mitch the Senate a liar.

The incident described at absolutely nothing to do with Cruz' natural born status. The only thing you got right was Ted Cruz taking up the fight against the worst sellout establishment Rino in the United States Senate and doing it courageously in public. Cruz did it honestly which is more than I can say for your screed.

Want more.. I expect not...

We are still waiting for any but I expect we will get only more lies.

Well, looks like a great number of the unwashed, and their friends and neighbors, some with even higher education, voted thumbs up for Trump and thumbs down for Cruz.

Cruz is not a contender this go round.

If Trump wins, Cruz is more marginalized.

If Hillary wins, Cruz has no chance for eight years, and will be but a foot note in American History, as the gentleman of principle, who does not keep his publicly stated and signed oath.

That (spit) conservative.

based on his horrible statements against Trump after the Chicago thugs did their evil.

Here is the YouTube film of Ted Cruz' remarks I let the reader, or in this case the viewer, judge for himself whether the statements made by Ted Cruz were "horrible" or quite reasonable in view of the language that had been used. You can review a list of the remarks supporting Ted Cruz' observations by simply googling the subject, I refrain from doing so for fear of being zotted.

His dishonorable choice at the RNC convention to not endorse Trump showed me he is all about him.

Here is the video of Donald Trump repudiating the pledge himself. He further said he did not want the endorsement of Ted Cruz. Donald Trump was advised when Trump extended the invitation to Ted Cruz to speak that Cruz would not endorse Trump. Cruz' speech was submitted to Trump's people before it was delivered and there was no objection made. No fair observer can regard this transaction as any way "dishonorable" on Ted Cruz' part.

Vote Trump 2016

That is the only reasonable statement in your reply which I fully endorse but if we want to elect Donald Trump you would be well to stop disparaging Ted Cruz and driving his supporters away.

I just published two replies pointing out the factual inaccuracies falsely laid against Ted Cruz.(please see my preceding reply concerning the "oath.") They are not offered for the more rabid Ted Cruz haters who are simply not amenable to facts but to Ted Cruz supporters in the hope that they can still find a way to reconcile to a candidate whose supporters have maligned their champion in a most disreputable fashion.

I am simply unwilling to debate your conclusionary language and predictions about eight years into the future. I cannot even predict who is going to win this all-important race we have before us now. I would love to see the Ted Cruz supporters get behind Donald Trump at this point and so I do not understand the compulsion gratuitously to traduce Ted Cruz at this late date. We will need their votes.

Wow, you went full GOPe in your support for a dishonorable man.

“That is the only reasonable statement in your reply which I fully endorse but if we want to elect Donald Trump you would be well to stop disparaging Ted Cruz and driving his supporters away.”

Bullshite! If you Cruz people were were so plentiful he would have done better in the primaries.

Actually you posted pure spin & fantasy. That’s ok. The truth about Cruz is out & he severely diminished his political career (Thanks be to God) & Trump is going to be elected President.

Bullshite! If you Cruz people were were so plentiful he would have done better in the primaries.

You might cavalierly throw way 25% of the Republican primary voters in your arrogance but I hope every one of them votes for Donald Trump.

you posted pure spin & fantasy.

Actually I posted videos of Donald Trump and of Ted Cruz and I left the reader to judge based on real data. You are the one who repeated conclusionary and, I might add, hyperbolic language without any support whatsoever. You chose to dismiss and not to deal with any of the points I raised just as you dismissed 25% of Republican primary voters.

That is not my way to win an election. Elections are won with addition not subtraction

“Is Trump that kind of SOB? He very well might be. Is he a ‘pure conservative’? I don’t care.”

An “SOB”? I don’t know. But I have said that I want the biggest America-loving badass on God’s green earth in the White House to fix this country. It appears that Trump is that very badass.

“I thought the guy was 100% true conservative, and Christian.”

He was none of those things.

- - - -

“And he knew the Constitution, history and the issues inside out”

Maybe he KNEW the Constitution, but he ignored it, considering his birthplace.

- - - - -

“He could have run circles around Hillary in the upcoming debates.”

His debating skills are greatly exaggerated. He was a TERRIBLE debater in the primaries. Terrible! Maybe he did well in college debates when the subject was narrow and he had time to study. When the topics are broad and varied, and he must think quickly on his feet, he chokes. Once again: He sucked in the primary debates. Hillary would eat him for lunch.

“Unless he [Trump] hates his children, he will seek to repeal or change regulations that choke the life out of companies. Perhaps the path he will cut for his family may be wider than we need but sufficient for ours.”

Excellent!!

If his reason for saving America is to make a better future for his kids, the end result will be to make a better future for ALL of our kids, grandkids, etc. I’m OK with that.

“I have no recollection of that happening. (blaming Trump supporters for the Soros-funded riot in Chicago which caused a Trump rally to be cancelled)”

IIRC, he didn’t blame Trump supporters for the Chicago riot; he blamed Trump personally. It (Cruz blaming Trump) was such a big deal that it was discussed for days on end here and in the media.

Cruz blaming Trump for the riots was so blatant it made my 92-year-old, politically active mother begin to discount Cruz (her original choice). And she picked up on it when it happened; it didn’t take a pundit to point it out.

Maybe you were sick that day?

The “unwashed”? WTF?

“Some with even higher education”? My husband is a PhD at a national lab, as is everyone he works with. All Trump supporters from the get-go. Ditto for our social group.
