caww :" At what point do we put our military on our southern border? "

While that makes common sense, and would be economical,
I believe that to be a violation of " The Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 " , which forbids military troops from acting as police.
Technically, such a presence wouldn't be a police action, rather, it would be to end a civilian invasion at the southern border.

caww :” At what point do we put our military on our southern border? “

Technically.such a presence.... would be to end a civilian invasion at the southern border.

Well yes....but the Demorats and Mexico pushed back even when Perry tried to put the ‘National Guard’ on his border to get out the ‘drug cartels and other criminal elements’ who were eluding capture during the influx of Obama’s South American children.

With stupid ridiculous reasons we were told:....
“It is not so much a security problem as it is people showing up and saying, ‘I’m here. Take me in. Arrest me or take me into detention,’” Rep. Steny Hoyer (Md), the Democratic whip, said .. “That’s not a security problem. “

If the Deorats cannot/willnot identify a National Security issue then the border will never be secured from the criminal element and other infiltrators we don’t want here....

January 11, 2010, President Obama signed Executive Order (EO) 13528 which established a Council of Governors, “Chosen By Obama” who can seize control of ‘state’ National Guard forces in the event of a ‘National Emergency.’...thus subverting the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878.

Reagan-era EO 12656 defines a national security emergency as ‘any’ occurrence, including natural disaster, military attack, technological emergency, or other emergency ‘’’that seriously degrades or seriously threatens’’’’ the national security of the United States.

If our government can engage in wars in the Middle East under the guise of they could attack the United States, why are they not using military force if these Mexican invaders are controlling areas of “our land” on the border (Drug gangs) and their population invading our country???

Further when the National Guard are deployed ‘on US Soil’ it is by ‘the Governor of a specific STATE’.... the Feds have zero control of the National Guard on US Soil UNLESS there is a national emergency declared by the President, or whenever an insurrection occurs in any State against its government, or any form of rebellion.

Don’t be so naive. Posse is is a dead act under a National Emergency scenario. Which we are under right now and have been for decades. Second the Posse Act doesn’t cover the Navy, which means we can have Marines on the ground in the states.
