"Desierto" - A Mexican thriller, 2015
Beginning their hopeful journey across the US-Mexico border to seek a better life, the plight of Mexican migrant workers becomes a fight for survival:
The unarmed men and women are ruthlessly pursued by an evil, rifle-bearing vigilante sniper, cackling with glee as he plies his grisly trade.
Who? All the producers listed on IMDB are Mexican or French.
Funded by the Mexican Cartels and the Union of Coyotes?
I was wondering who else noticed that.
Marlin 60 is what it looks like
The truth of the matter is that a sniper is unnecessary.
“The bodies of as many as 850 illegal alien men, women and children who died trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border unlawfully now lie frozen and unidentified in a morgue in Tucson, Ariz., according to an Arizona medical examiner.”
That desert is freaking vicious, especially in summer.
If somebody has a sense of humor and Photoshop skills, they should replace the sniper’s scarf with a Palestinian Keffiyeh.
“Muslim sniper waits on US border to kill helpless Mexican immigrants, for Islam.”
Probably, but it really looks scary even for a 22LR.
From wikipedia: In December 2015, STX Entertainment announced that it would release the film on 4 March 2016 in North American theaters.[8] The film was released in France on 13 April 2016 and in Mexico on 15 April 2016 and has grossed $2.8 million as of 15 May 2016.[9] The North America release date was subsequently pushed back to 14 October 2016.
Imagine that, they pushed the release date to just before the election.
