Indefinite solitary confinement? I wouldn’t wish that on anybody. They are better off just executing him and being done with it. He was already pretty loosely wired as it is.

i think, tho, that sometimes we should just go easier on people who are so incredibly mixed up....
maybe this is just a wimpy idea, but.. well, people who have that many problems already...... maybe we can lighten up a bit about dumping more problems on them? its not like we don’t have real IslamoNazi terrorist gangster murderers to go after, that we have all this extra time and energy to add to the charges of someone who is already locked up?

Bradley (Chelsea) Manning may face charges relating to a suicide attempt this year, which could lead to indefinite solitary confinement or transferral to a maximum-security facility, according to a civil rights group.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) announced on Thursday that Manning, who is serving a 35-year sentence in military custody for leaking state secrets to the whistleblowing site WikiLeaks, was under investigation for three charges related to his 5 July suicide attempt: “resisting the force cell move team”, “prohibited property”, and “conduct which threatens”.
Manning confirmed through his lawyers in July that he was receiving medical care after having tried to take his own life.
If convicted of these new “administrative offenses”, he faces punishment that could include solitary confinement for the rest of his sentence, reclassification as a maximum-security prisoner, and an addition of nine years to his sentence. It might also negate his possibility of parole, according to the ACLU.
“It is deeply troubling that Chelsea is now being subjected to an investigation and possible punishment for his attempt to take his life,” ACLU staff attorney Chase Strangio said in a press release....

He is a freak. But, even I have to say that solitary confinement seems like a weird reaction to a suicide attempt. It certainly won’t help his mental health.
If we wanted to execute him for treason, as we arguably should have, why not do it and get it over with?
