failed. So constitutional order remains wobbly, human rights and freedoms remain subjugated to Islam, the rule of law continues to be subjugated to sharia and general security threatened. Obama is pleased the Islamic autocrat has triumphed. Birds of a feather, so to speak, although apparently not water proof.

Some have suggested that Erdogan orchestrated the coup himself, in order to give more legitimacy to his regime and allow the acceleration of the conversion of Turkey from a democratic parliamentary government to an Islamic presidential regime. And possibly set up the New Ottoman Empire with Erdogan the leader of the New Caliphate. That could mean war.

That was not the entire Turkish military but a faction. Had their entire or most of their Armed Forces turned against Erdogan he would be maggot food today.
We know who lost Iran and it looks like Obama lost Turkey.
Well, Iran = Shia. Erdogan and ISIS = Sunni. Erdogan may soon see an ISIS alliance as making himself The Caliph. The efforts of Ataturk to modernize Turkey have probably just been undone. While Zero is fine with this Putin probably won’t be. We’re I an objective observer I would prefer an alliance with Putin over one with Zero.
