“Riding Dirty” The Curious Case of Philando Castile – Falcon Heights, MN Police Shooting…
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | 7-8-16 | sundance

MAJOR UPDATE BELOW: In order to give the update context we are placing the update at the conclusion of the original outline.

By now everyone is aware of the officer involved shooting of Philando Castile that became a viral BLM activist case as a direct result of his girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds (aka Lavish Reynolds) live-streaming the aftermath from their vehicle. – BACK STORY HERE –

NOTE: It is critical to remember -as you review the images and the video- optically the live stream was captured as a mirror image. Some video uploads mirror the image, it can be confusing, you have to reset your reference points. Philando Castile was driving, Diamond Reynolds was the passenger.

During the uploaded video narration Ms. Reynolds stated the police officer pulled them over for a broken tail light.

There are several aspects of the narrative as told that didn’t pass the sniff test, however, something about the “tail light” just didn’t seem to make sense. Especially when you consider it was daylight when they were pulled over; and where –in the aftermath media video– it can be noted the tail lights were operable.

Wow, thanks for identifying yourself as a cop-hating, criminal defending leftist. You now claim you weren’t defending the Bundy idiots? That backflip didn’t take long. Obviously, you identify with armed robbers more that police officers. That’s all I need to know about you. I can’t believe there are people on this site defending criminals, especially after last night in Dallas.

Does that look like a "loose" gun?

I don't know how you can be so sure it's a gun at all.

Hmm, attack the person, that certainly is right from the liberal playbook, as well as projecting opinions. I appreciate your words, thank you for sharing them.

You didn't read the article, I take it.

I DID read the article. If you did, you apparently didn't comprehend it.

The license plate was the same as the one on the car that the thieves drove off in.

Go back and read the article again. That's not what it says.

Apparently, there is more than one person here with reading comprehension problems.

My LEO friends tell me it’s becoming a common tactic, unfortunately, for suspects at traffic stops to lie about having a CCW...even if it only puts the LEO at ease for 1 second, it’s enough of an advantage to sucker punch the LEO with a bullet and then you have a dead cop.

Ah, then you have documented cases where this has happened?

I have a feeling BLM will not want to see the dash cam and body cam footage.

There is no body cam, as this department doesn't use them.

Local news media is reporting there IS dashcam video from the squad car. But, I'm not sure what it could tell you, other than possibly measure the time between the officer drawing and shooting his weapon.

VerySadAmerican :" But after he lost control and shot a guy four time then allowed the man to bleed to death when it was obvious the guy was no longer a threat
then he makes up the story about the robbery suspect"

Most Police communications with the dispatch office are taped for posterity,
and timed (to the second, and milisecond).

It pains me to come to the honest conclusion that many of the grievances of BLM are not without merit.

The question is: is the grievance justifiably due to racial bias, or because of excessive force? I wholeheartedly oppose excessive force, for people of all races, religion, etc. But, BLM insists on making it about race, and undermines their own effort by telling me I "couldn't understand".

In this case, I'm concerned because Castile was just as likely to be a CHL holder trying to comply, as he was a gang-banger that robbed a convenience store.

Far too many people are trying to justify their opinion of the latter by grasping at straws, while simultaneously demanding concrete proof for anything that even hints at the former.

Since my brother is in law enforcement, I sincerely doubt he’s cop hating. That is your projection and problem, not mine.

Nope, I have no documented cases. Anecdotal only.

In other words, it's about as reliable as the claims that Castile is a gang member.

Thanks for being honest.

Looks like a semi-automatic pistol to me. What do YOU think it is?

I don't know what it is. All I see is a dark object that could be a wallet, a handgun, or a cell phone.

There's a shadow that COULD be an gunsight, but I can't be sure of that.

The only way you can be sure it is a gun is to use confirmation bias.

Confirmed – Philando Castile Was an Armed Robbery Suspect – False Media Narrative Now Driving Cop Killings…

Posted on  by

The Falcon Heights, Minnesota police shooting of Philando Castile is based around an entirely false narrative.  Castile and Ms. Diamond Reynolds (Facebook video uploader) were pulled over by police because Castile matched a BOLO Alert for an armed robbery suspect from four days prior.

Unfortunately, the false statements in the video – which have gone viral, and are being pushed by the mainstream media – have created a backlash against police officers.

Police officers in: Dallas (link), Tennessee (link), Missouri (link) and Georgia (link) have been Shot or killed in the past 24 hours as a result of a false narrative driven by the Black Lives Matter movement. It is important to get the truth out quickly.

Saint Anthony, MN, Police Officers Jeronimo Yanez and Joseph Kauser pulled over Mr. Castile and Ms. Reynolds because the driver, Philando Castile, matched the suspect profile in an armed robbery which occurred on July 2nd, at a convenience store, only a few blocks from where their car was pulled over.

The armed robbery occurred on July 2nd 7:30pm (Sat).  The CCTV images were given to media and LEO by detectives on July 5th (Tuesday).  A BOLO (Be On Look Out) alert was issued the same day, Tuesday July 5th.  Philando Castile was pulled over on July 6th.

From the radio dispatch of Officer Jeronimo Yanez:

I’m going to stop a car. I’m going to check IDs.  I have reason to pull it over.”

The two occupants just look like people that were involved in a robbery. The driver looks more like one of our suspects, just ‘cause of the wide set nose.”

A minute and a half later, the recording captures the first report that there was a shooting. (link)

Ms. Diamond Reynolds narrates the now viral Facebook video with several false statements.

Reynolds claimed they were pulled over for a broken tail light, false.

Ms. Reynolds also claims her boyfriend, Castile, was holding a concealed carry permit for a firearmthat was resting on his left thigh.  This also appears to be false.

According to a question presented to the local county sheriff who oversees the Concealed Carry Permit process, Mr. Castile had never requested a concealed carry permit from their office:

Due to the rear facing camera option on the phone Ms. Reynolds was using, the uploaded video is a reversed mirror image – making it appear she was in the drivers side, and Castile was on the passenger side.  However, that impression is incorrect, astile was driving the vehicle.  The uploaded image is reversed by Facebook Livestream Video.

However, in part of the video it is possible to see a hand gun located on the thigh of Philando Castile.  This also appears to be why Officer Yanez repeats to Ms. Reynolds not to reach toward her boyfriend:

mn shooting 12

This hand gun also appears to be the same type of hand gun used in the Convenience Store Armed robbery four days earlier:

suspect MN 4

In addition, Mr. Castile also matched the physical description of the suspect as given by eye witnesses:

[…]  The other suspect was described as a black man with shoulder-length dreadlocks, who wore tan pants, tan shoes with white soles, a green jacket, a green baseball cap and glasses, the release says. He also had some of his hair pulled into a bun through the strap on the back of his hat and had a small mustache and facial hair on his chin(link)

Similar clothes as noted on the robbery suspect are also noted in the Facebook images of Mr. Castile.  However, whether Mr. Castile is actually the person who committed the armed robbery is essentially a moot point.  Officer Jeronimo Yanez gave the reason for the stop to his dispatcher as a possible ID on an “armed robbery suspect”.

It is with that “armed robbery suspect” perspective the approach toward the vehicle was made.

Mr. Castile, fitting the physical description, being in the same geography, and then having a handgun under his thigh only made the suspicions gain exponential weight.

Any behaviors or sudden movements by Mr. Castile would only increase the anxiety and increase his perception as a threat.

truth

Given that police around the country are being targeted based on an entirely false premise, it is critical the truth behind the entire incident be revealed with the same veracity as the MSM narrative. Unfortunately, lies travel around the world twice – before the truth even has time to put its boots on.

No, I’d say far more reliable.

On what basis? I'm sure you trust your friends, but if an officer was actually killed as a result of such a claim, it would have been front page news.

There's a saying in statistics: "the plural of anecdote is not data".

"I think that if a gun were loose in the vehicle, it would have been pretty obvious in the video that started immediately after the shooting."

Only if it was within the camera angle.

Or the same friggin' handgun he used to rob the convenience store.
