Don’t click on links in supposedly funny emails your pals send you. That is jerkball stuff responsible for probably 85% of malware infections and considerate people should not do it. Especially those who think they are clever and have their “funny of the day”. Those people piss me off.

If you have "in private" (or equivalent) browsing enabled, it doesn't save on your system. If I'm suspicious but curious about content I go there. I've had that ransomware warning there, and simply shut down and when I restarted it was gone.

If there's a FReeper expert who knows different, and I was just lucky, I'm always ready to listen.
