You’re right that such rapid fire, bombastic “debate” tactics dehumanize people, and you’re right to assess they come from a feeling of panic. Don’t fall into the same trap though.

No. This is itself “dehumanizing”. No one is “sitting in on training sessions” learning about “mind control” techniques. Again, such beliefs only further dehumanize leftist/conservative interactions.
They are just people like the rest of us. I know it’s fashionable (on FR) to describe them in inhuman terms like “demons” and “robots” and certainly many display such traits from time to time but they aren’t less human than we are. Bottom line they use the rapid fire debate technique because it works. And that’s all they’ve ever leanrned. I’ve met plenty of “conservatives” who debate the same way too though and I’m not talking about on FR.
Lay out a slew of talking points, call you “communist” if you disagree and suggest immediate self deportation as the remedy. This is no better than the inanity you described from your leftist associate. And no one is taking courses on mind control.
The best way to counter such behavior is to do exactly what you did, attempt reasonable discourse and when/if that doesn’t work just let the loon make a fool of herself. Exactly like you did.

No, liberals and leftists are NOT like "us." They DO hate America, they DO sit in on training sessions, they DO group practice talking points, and they ARE led by people trained not only in mind control techniques, but very specific mind control techniques developed in Soviet Bloc countries and China, to the detriment and loss of lives of millions of people. NO, we are not "all the same." NO, being all "human" is NOT enough. Your lack of understanding of psychology, of history, and of communism is shameful. We want freedom, THEY want US DEAD. And they can and do SAY SO - this isn't a "conspiracy theory." A hundred million dead people in communist countries are screaming "BEWARE" from their graves. Mock that if you dare - I don't. Because what we are seeing in America now, from liberals, is how it started in their countries, too.
So NO, conservatives are NOT like liberals, an they DON'T argue the same way. In fact, the approach of liberals and conservatives to political discussions are diametrically opposed in procedure, not just content. And those liberals who have sat in on training sessions are mimicked - on purpose, consciously and deliberately - by other liberals, because liberals are addicted to group acceptance. They literally do not care what the facts are, they only care that the position statements they are spouting are the current accepted group position statements. Conservatives have political opinons. Liberals have their collectivist secular religion - only part of which is fronting political talking points.
Your efforts to normalize the two sides are nothing less than an attempt to keep hidden what I wrote to expose. It is exactly the same thing as telling people Muslims are the same as us in appreciating the preciousness of life and freedom. Liberals are just as addicted to obedience as Muslims, except they worship - worship - political gods such as Obama and Hillary, rather than Allah. But like Muslims, history has shown that their single, unifying belief is that all unbelievers must be killed. And history has also shown that they can and will commit those murders by the hundreds of millions. And THAT comes from how they THINK - which is exactly what I am talking about - and what you are in denial about.

Lets take something that should be obvious to anyone. They claimed after WWII that National Socialism had nothing to do with Socialism. Or today they're claiming Islam has nothing to do with Islam.
How could any thinking mind persom come to the conclusion that Islam has nothing to do with Islam unless you're being manipulated?
