I was verbally assaulted - and assaulted is, I think, the proper word here - by a middle-aged female Hillary supporter yesterday. It was quite a remarkable experience, like witnessing someone having a psychotic break, complete with rolling eyes, waving hands, rapid wall-talking, fantastical discussion positions and plenty of snarling personal insults - all while I barely said a word except to indicate, initially, that I was a Trump supporter.
I thought about it for a long time afterwards, because she was truly bat**** crazy, yet gave no indication of it until she suddenly shifted the discussion to politics.
And Ive come to believe that what I was seeing in her behavior is best described by the word panic. She was literally acting out panic. Whatever she is a part of, that is linked to supporting Hillary, KNOWS the Bitch is going down. And so, the general feeling amongst her secret sorority is the level of alarm that hits when people realize that their entire building is on fire. She wasnt just supporting Hillary - she was demanding, beseeching, pleading, raging and commanding I support Hillary, flying from talking point to talking point so fast I had no time for comment, nor did she care if I did. And all the while, she repeatedly claimed to "hate" Hillary.
Something very, very weird is going on. I saw it with my own eyes today. The rank and file are starting to panic. I would say that she actually wasnt all that far from becoming violent - and at the same time, she would have been hardly aware of being so. This was not a normally demonstrative woman, yet she hadnt a clue as to how completely out of control she had become - nor any idea that I was literally backing up as she ranted.
I predict ever increasing meltdowns as the months go by. I dont advise arguing - just get away. Eventually, these people WILL become dangerous.
ADDENDUM: I've re-posted the above thread reply as a thread because I've realized I was looking at a trained technique, as well as panic. The woman I was witnessing was, and has been, a longtime Hillary supporter. But she was openly and emphatically stating she "hated" Hillary - but was going to vote for her. She claimed that she "loved Bernie," but now that he lost, Trump is so vile, so despicable, that she is "forced" to vote for Hillary even though she "hates" her, and - get this - anyone who is conflicted over Bernie losing, or Trump as the GOP candidate, SHOULDN'T VOTE AT ALL.
This is pretty extraordinary, not even counting the outrageous rudeness of it. It's an extremely calculated message, created by political and psychological analysists, and then dumped into soundbite traing sessions for common liberal idiots to regurgitate by the millions. Hillary's people know she is loathed, even by Democrats and especially by Berniebots, so first of all, her supporters are told NOT to openly support her. But they also know that millions of republicans don't like Trump. So what they've come up with is basically a reversal of what is actually going on - millions will vote for Trump to stop Hillary, because she will destroy the country and is simply not acceptable for any reason, not even mentioning all the vast crimes she dragging around. So - that's what they accuse Trump of. And they hit all of his strengths - he's not a busness success, but a failed businessman. The wall won't work and can't be financed. Muslims are being enraged by hims and so he's causing terrorism. Everything reversed, and logic and reality be damned. But, at the same time, nothing is ever said about Hillary, NOT by defending her, but rather by claiming to HATE her, and dismiss her.
Pretty slick, eh? They never have to defend Hillary. They just reject her, hate her, but dump tons and tons of slander on Trump, defend none of it (because they are merely listing talking points they've memorized). I was told, for example, that the Great Wall of China "proves" that the Mexican wall could never work. What?! But then motormouth moved on to the next "point," rapidfire. Because what they are trained to do is a braindump - NOT a discussion, and NEVER a defense of Hillary. What they do is work themselves into a yelling froth against Trump, wistfully weep for Bernie, profess hatred for Hillary and then... then... conclude that they have two choices "forced" on them - to not vote at all, or vote "against" Trump by voting for Hillary. Both of which, of course, serving Hillary's purposes, depending on who they are talking to.
And if you indicate you've read up on issues, you will be immediately rejected. Finally, for example, I made a comment to refute one of her talking points with some deeper facts and knowledge, specifically that Trump was NOT, in fact a "racist and misogynist." Rather, I said that he pointed where people claimed their own race as backing for their actions, and he specifically decried cultures which enslave women as property. She immediately stopped, gazed at me and then said, "well, if you're a Fox News Republican, I can't talk to you" - and suddenly walked away!
Now, I'm not a Fox News anything, nor Republican, really, given that the entire party has been outed as RINOs. But that's not the point - her phrase, "Fox News Republican" is what THEY are trained to call anyone who has accessed and considered Non-Democrat-Approved Media. And of course, that means such people can recognize their bullshit AS bullshit, and so the entire screed, acting job and effort is pointless.
So, in such cases, they are taught to dehumanize such people, and they do it in two ways - 1st, LABEL them. It's an Alinsky tactic to create the "other" as against the "group." 2nd - REJECT them, utterly, completely, suddenly and totally. And lest you think I'm being overly dramatic here, this is exactly the first two stages of what communist countries use before they actually destroy human beings - the third stage, of course, being arrest and/or simply being killed. Read up on Soviet Russia and China - this is no exaggeration. It's just that it's never been deplayed by the millions here, so Americans aren't used to recognizing what they are seeing. But conservative who comes across one of these members of "Hillary's Army" will have no doubt that that person could, and would, easily send them to a concentration camp if they had the power. No doubt at all - because they WANT you to know it. To them, you're either IN, or OUT, and they want to know, RIGHT NOW, which one you are.
Even without the final stage, though, it's a psychologically brutal tactic, even from someone I found revolting, because it's a sudden and dramatically enacted effect that is derived from the tactic itself. I'm telling you, these people are TRAINED by real bastards - and they are dedicated as any Chekist ever was. In fact, EXACTLY as Chekists were, which is why Eastern Europeans shudder at what they're seeing here.
And that's why I'm writing this - because this is ALL calculated stuff, folks. So don't be fooled by the wild-eyed maniac in front of you - they've sat in training sessions. They've memorized talking points and practiced their deliveries. Yes, her. Yes, him. The mild-mannered neighbor, the casual acquaintance, the workers you know, family members - all of them. THIS is how Hillary's money is being used: mind and behavior control.
With one exception - right now, they are afraid. Something is wrong, and they feel it, and they know it, because their handlers, their trainers, their superiors are SCARED. And so THEY are scared, too - even, as I observed, panicked. Because Hillary was never, ever supposed to face Trump, or anyone like Trump, ever. And while they are all getting as dirty as they can, they are still scared, because they have to fight now - for real. And that wasn't supposed to happen - ever.
So walk away from them. Don't engage. In THEIR minds they are cornered animals and YOU are threatening them just by existing. Yes, that is madness. But that is what they are - insane.
i was sure in 2008 that this country would not elect a man with an obvious arab muslim name over a war hero (i know, i use the term loosely) and Sarah Palin (a real conservative and smoking hot to boot!).
i was wrong.
i was sure in 2012 that this country would not repeat the mistake of 2008 after seeing what an incompetent and america-hating boob the man with the arab muslim name was. running against him, we had an actual honest-to-goodness businessman who literally made a name for himself turning around struggling companies. if ever america needed a man like that, surely it was in 2012.
i was wrong.
in 2016, i’ve learned my lesson. in fact, it’s an old lesson about breads & circuses. let’s wait and see what happens, but i have my concerns and anxiety about the outcome.
“Kukri”: It sounds like
an Eastern Euro pastry
But don’t put in mouth!
Including a double supersized buttload of so-called evangelical ministers.
A simplistic haiku in response top your valid, cogent post:
Dehumanizing
and Destructive are two planks

About 60 percent don't vote. But, I don't think all of them fit in the "don't like the choices" group.
I'll speculate on of some of the larger subsets of the non-voters, in no particular order:
I'm sure that you could come up with more categories.
Swords in my pockets
One right, one left, protecting
One in the middle ;)
That article is way too long for me to get through. I could vote for Hillary, for LEAVENWORTH.
Verbally assaulted? Meanwhile, Trump supporters are getting physically assaulted.
A haiku of great importance (in Milpitas):
Hill grabs Huma’s head
“Down there: do that thing”
Technically date rape!
So yeah, this has nothing to do with your great haiku. Sorry; I suck.
Bump because this is really GOOD!
The difference is they didn't want to know anything about Obama. They flat out refused to listen. With what they did know about Obama. Which was Obama was black therefore a great pick for president(which is pure and simple racism.) Hillary they already know.
Obama they loved. Hillary they hate but the fear drives them to vote.
Apathy will set in for many.
Word etymology haiku:
“Fricken”: Old German
Arcane verb meaning “to stab”
Your haiku spurred that!
I have some training and experience in psychological intervention and I did try some things, such as questioning the framing of the issues in a nonthreatening manner, suggesting the possibility of alternative interpretations, and empathizing with her frustration and anger. But there's a difference between dealing with someone who is asleep, versus someone who is pretending to be asleep.
What most struck me is that her general understanding and intelligence did not rise to the level of creating and pursuing the sophistication of psychological tactics she was unleashing on me. So her mindset was one of "obeying orders" or "carrying out a mission" - not, in fact, genuinely backing her words with personal meaning.
And yet, again, she "believes" in her mission, so she was able to insert that belief into her tactics. But, again, this kind of psychological construction was beyond her ability to compose herself. Her value is in her "loyalty" to the cause, and her fear of being abandoned - not her intelligence. Therefore, she was trained.
But she was not trained to deliver it in such a panicked fashion, and that's what got me thinking. Because someone like her will only be afraid if they sense that their superiors are afraid - they're like rats, who are the first to know if the ship is taking on water. And every sailor knows that if the officers are blandly telling them everything is fine, but the rats are leaping overboard, that they're in a lot of trouble.
Similiarly, she was emotionally expressing the extreme fear of her handlers - their desperation, if you will, and their probable abuse of people like her who are being blamed for the limited Hillary support. Typically, totalitarians blame any problems on "lack of loyalty." Their people "aren't working hard enough" and so they are continually punished. Can there really be any doubt, whatsoever, that Hillary's machine works exactly like this? And so IMO, her panic comes from the fact that her handlers know the REAL polls, the ones NOT released to the public.
A haiku, for you:
“Vote for me, I’m black!”
He said to dullard masses
Who did, cuz he black
Dunno, somebody I know is in the tank for Clinton, I think. Never wanted to hear anything about her that wasn’t MSM-approved.
My liberal mom seemed almost desperate when she asked me and my brother for only one thing on her 7th birthday. Not to vote for Hillary buy just don’t vote for Trump. It was panic.
I never heard the term used in such a way. I assume you mean. From the Japanese word. Meaning to artfully cut words to show something very nice.
I like that term. haiku
My son, a good conservative, and his independent/liberal girlfriend sometimes debate politics. My son uses facts and rationale, she emotion. She gets angry with him because, as she told him, he is right and she doesn’t like it.
