Because people are beaten down by years of leftist hectoring in school, by the media, etc. I wear my Trump hat proudly.
I’ve had repeated expressions of support from total strangers for my Trump hat and bumper sticker. In nearly a year nobody has vandalized my vehicle even though it has that bumper sticker and had an “Impeach Obama” bumper sticker. Indeed,I often eat at a truck stop frequented by many black people and have had no trouble. BTW I just replaced the Obola sticker with a “Hillary for Prison 2016” sticker. No problems so far.
