LONDON A petition calling for the UK to hold a second referendum on membership in the European Union surpassed 1.3 million signatures on Saturday, in the wake of Britain's vote to leave the 28-member bloc.
The demand to sign the parliamentary petition briefly caused the government website to crash on Friday. A House of Commons spokeswoman told the Guardian that the site was temporarily taken down due to "exceptionally high volumes of simultaneous users on a single petition, significantly higher than on any previous occasion."
In the referendum, 17,410,742 voted to leave and 16,141,241 voted to stay a difference of 1,269,501 votes. As of Saturday around 1:30 p.m., the petition has 1,353,575 votes....

I think they’re in trouble though. I’d be willing to wager that a big percentage of the people voting “Remain” were spooked by the scare tactics. Assuming the sky doesn’t in fact fall next week and in the ensuing weeks and months, that part of the Remain argument goes kablooey.
My guess is that they’ll do that they always do, subvert the decision at every opportunity outside of the public view.
Tell these twits they’re welcome to go to an EU country any time. Buh-bye!
Yeah and how many came from the same IP addresses in Prague? Soros and his buddies are up to no good again. All he would have to do is get his Hunman Rights Campaign (LGBT group) volunteers to sign the petition; probably way over a million alone.
So if globalists lose, they want to revote until they get their way?
Shouldn’t the headline read: “A fraction of the losing side petitions for a do-over”.
Yeah, dream on, losers!
They need more time to stuff the ballot boxes. Crap they learned from the communists here in this country.
Idiots is right. If they get 15.5 million more, they will have enough to best the result of the election.
It’s not really ‘internal’. I pulled up the petition and found that I could click on it as well. There is a block where you have to note that you are a citizen of the UK, but how they prove or disprove that....is a remarkable and humorous matter (it’s not existent). So 1,000 votes from China is a possibility...or even ten votes from Austin.
I think the new wording now is that they want the minimum to leave the EU to be set at 60-percent in favor, which they know that the leave-crowd can’t get past the 56-percentage point.
They want more muslims in and then they vote...
Typical left wingers.
I think the count is now up to 2 million, or maybe 3 or something. And on a weekend too! I wonder if Soros has to pay double-time for weekend-working?
It was getting a consistent 20 votes per second over several different hours of observation. This is not organic, it is a bot campaign almost certainly. Gargage in, gospel out.
Leftists. Dangling chads et al. Keep doing it till they get their way.
Yada,Yada,Yada!
Nyaaaa nyaaaa! WE WANT A DO OVER!
All the muzzies are singing up.
