LONDON — A petition calling for the UK to hold a second referendum on membership in the European Union surpassed 1.3 million signatures on Saturday, in the wake of Britain's vote to leave the 28-member bloc.
The demand to sign the parliamentary petition briefly caused the government website to crash on Friday. A House of Commons spokeswoman told the Guardian that the site was temporarily taken down due to "exceptionally high volumes of simultaneous users on a single petition, significantly higher than on any previous occasion."
In the referendum, 17,410,742 voted to leave and 16,141,241 voted to stay — a difference of 1,269,501 votes. As of Saturday around 1:30 p.m., the petition has 1,353,575 votes....

Someone should point out to them that they just had a vote on it.
I think if the government did another one (which I am sure they will not), the Leave votes would be even higher.
1.3 million of the ones who voted to stay in the first place, are now demanding that they get a 2nd shot at winning. I guess their motto is, “we’ll keep doing this until you get it right.”

Yeah but the vote didn’t produce the desired result. That supposedly merits a do-over.

23 million voted to leave EU...far more than 1 million wishing 2nd referendum.

So 1.3 million of the 16 million that voted to stay sign a petition because they are sore losers and that’s supposed to impress someone?
and a third one and a fourth one and a fifth one.....
Whatever it takes to get the liberal result.
