There's nothing like comparing yourself to Homer Simpson to make you feel as if your kids are extraordinarily lucky to have you as a dad.

half of me says this probably isn't appropriate since sadly we have so many dads and husbands just like Homer. I remember a preacher actually talking about this once, "Father knows best becomes father is a stupid bald guy. DOH!" Put it down as a sign of the times.
Then again comparing yourself to Homer you feel a lot better.
Not only that, watch worlds strictest parents. Compare yourself to the parents of the UK brats sent to America to live with strict parents and some of these strict parents they just go overboard!
It really does make you feel extraordinary.
