Ever vigilant, never fearful. I’m guessing that is a quote from somewhere - but that is one of my mottos. I’m in the earth sciences in Seattle - and yes, some day the Cascadia will make a huge mess of things. Before the discovery of it (in the 1980’s) Seattle and Portland and Vancouver all shared emergency response backup, and would help each other out.
Since the discovery, their “sister cities” are east of the Cascades, as all three cities may be messed up. Seattle is accessible by one road that doesn’t have a bridge. They plan that the mountain passes will be trashed as well, so helicopter supplies in from staging areas just east of the divide.
I’m working near Mount Rainier at the moment. Was just thinking a few hours ago “I wonder if that hill is tall enough if I hear rumbling?”
Should I worry in Cleveland?
